GTA V COPIES 1 modded and 1 for online

Featured Replies

Hey guys.. LOVE the mods btw... have a question..

First of all i got a LEGAL copy of the game..

BUT i copied the gamefiles to the same folder and renamed it COPY.. ( I want 2 copies because i want 1 for online use ( unmodded ) And the other one for modding..

But i get an error ? socialclub keeps telling me it doesnt run with steam client....

is there any chance to fix it ? or do i have to buy another game just so i can mod and dont get risk of ban!

thankyou

By mod do you mean like "Hack" modding or LSPDFR modding...You can't get banned for using LSPDFR because it won't even run in online.

Post the exact error here. And I believe the reason it won't run is because if you have the steam version, the game is generally located using the following

Drive://Program Files (x86)/Steam/Steamapps/Common/Grand Theft Auto V

If you make a copy the game copy will appear as this

Drive://Program Files (x86)/Steam/Steamapps/Common/Grand Theft Auto V/COPY

COPY isn't recognised by steam, same with it's contents. If you want to make a copy of GTA, install steam on a different hard drive and install GTA there otherwise it won't work.

There is no need to install it on a different drive. Simply rename the folder you want to use for playing to Grand Theft Auto V, and the other one(s) to something different. You'll have to edit names every time you want to switch between modded and unmodded, but it doesn't require different hard drives/partitions.

Yeh, But I was assuming if he had a high end PC or something that he was gonna like run 2 at one time. Was obviously a stupid assumption by me, continue on.

This is what i do. I have 2 copies on the one drive, Works absolutely flawlessly.

Same. I have 1 purely for modding and one for GTA Online. All you need to do is change the folder name to Grand Theft Auto V if you want to use it. You can have them on the same drive you just can't have them named the same thing at once.

If you want to me reply as soon as possible, then either quote or @CouthInk4  me as i'll be notified, a general reply will not notify me
