  • Slimory, I don't know what to tell you, other than be truthful, put your faith in GOD (if you do believe), because he can clear paths and open doors that others try to block and keep close.

  • I think the poly graph is looking for your honesty integrity

No, but be honest about prior drug use. My agency doesn't allow any drug use within 3 years of application, so if discovered that you used illegal drugs within 3 years then you'd simply be denied employment with us. The whole goal of the recruitment and screening division is to employ great deputies with integrity and commitment to the office, not to arrest people for crimes they may or may not have committed in the past.

I can't speak for your specific situation, but I'd be very surprised if legal action was taken based on information discovered in a polygraph unless it was something very serious such as child abuse, sex crimes, homicide, etc...

Depending on where you are living at, polygraphs may or may not happen. The state of Massachusetts does not allow police departments to use them during the hiring processes at all. I thought polygraphs could be used in court, but only really helps as circumstantial evidence, since it's just a machine and can't prove beyond a reasonable doubt whether a person is lying or not.

@Cp702- that is very true, what do you think the odd's are of the amount of people failing question's that relate to the internet?

@Unr3al- it is just a machine, but i'm not sure if they could lock you up for "confessing" a felony.

Just be honest with them. If you think it would definitely DQ you, there's not much point applying, but, other than that, you'll never find out for sure unless you apply. I don't see much point in worrying about it, TBH; they may not even ask, and if they do, you shouldn't "game" your answer, so...
