Off chance to fix your problem: if you have dsound.dll in the directory. remove that too.

Xliveless.DLL and any other native libraries will also cause boot failures.

I can't launch the game now. Amazing. 5,128 hours played, and it worked fine. Now it's fucked.

Rockstar made a great update that we have all been begging for! Just sadly rendered most mods useless.. Glad to hear that visuals have been tweaked though! Fingers crossed that scripthook does get updated in the near future. It's a pain trying to show everyone in my community how to revert to an older version lol

I was planning on getting back into LCPD FR in the next few days and now this has happened.. just my luck lol.

Saying about the update patch but what about EFLC?????

EDIT: Did not work for me unfortunately. Guess i'll have to hope for an Scripthook and LCPDFR update.

Just to clear things up that steam version seems to update itself and my mate that has the steam version is able to go online (no mods, clean GTAIV) However it was lagging at first and giving false reading with the usage, card is 2GB and saying it had 512MB.

 

I fixed the lag with drivers problems, able to run high still showing 512MB. 

 

So anyone running steam version, you should be updated :) but please remove your .DLL files and maybe some mods to able to get online as an clean GTAIV.

 

So when will we all going to see some updates with the hooks?

Try doing a clean install and making sure all your mods are out before doing those steps.

 

You might also try finding a extracted version of patch 7

For anyone wanting to downgrade on Steam version but didn't have a backup, look at Claude's post about downgrading on the GTAForums post..

 

Also to note, if want to do multiplayer with mods, use the paul.dll from patch 8 with patch 7. Go in the once and then you shouldn't need the paul.dll again and you will be able to still access mp, far better than the past 6 years lol. Rockstar did us all a favour with this update, whether things get updated or not, fixing the login for patch 8 also fixes for patch 7 like I said, so if you want the extra slight performance patch 8 gives and no mods, you can, if you want mods, patch 7 is freely available.

If anyone can answer how the asi loader works, would be great, do use dinput8 and dsound_x64 or use one of either and do need renaming? Also is the asi mods to go in scripts like in the zip or like how it was before?

It depends, some things work with patch 4 and patch 7, some work with only one or the other, probably will be the same thing

please reinstall patch 

v. 1.0.7.0 you can run teh game but it still crashes like crazy as always :/ update broke my game couldnt even start it ran that patch play off line and it works online nor sure if that will work GL

Is your game clean? do mods and whatnot installed. May want to do another clean install

This patch has improved my game performance, but LCPDFR not work. After removing dsound.dll game turns, but ALT + P will not start me modification. Anyone know how to fix it? Creators LCPDFR fix it? Do you need to get back to 1.0.7.0?

As far as I understand it, you're going to have to downgrade - at least until Scripthook gets updated.
