How to change the color of emergency lighting

Featured Replies

So lately I've been using Captain14's ELS style vehicles (linked below). I really like the cars in these packs but I'd like to change the lights to all blue to better mimic the lighting colors of the police departments in my area. Is there anyone here who would be willing to explain (or make a video tutorial) how to change the light colors? Or if someone has already converted these vehicles to ones with all blue lights can you send me a link? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You'll need to swap the light color textures and write a carcols.meta file.

Ok. I believe I'll be able to figure out the textures part without any problem. I'm not exactly sure how to do the carcols.meta files (Well at least not without breaking my game). Thanks for the help.

I don't know how to write one either, lol. You're welcome.

I don't understand the point of signatures on this site. What the fuck is the point?

If you wanna do carcols editing, I suggest you start reading the thread about it in Modding Discussion. Essentially, you need to copy or edit the sirensetting (that's <siren>) that your vehicle currently uses and change the red coronas to blue. In carcols, under <siren>, the top-level <item> stands for a siren texture, there's 20 total. there's a color value within, something like 0xFFFF0000 (red) where the characters after 0x determine the alpha, red, green and blue channels (0xAARRGGBB).

So, start reading the thread, and good luck!

Customization is key to my gaming experience. I take pictures, do textures and lore-friendly vehicles.
