Radiance V: Taxi advert light Intensity

Featured Replies

So I love what Radiance V does to the game but I have only one problem which is the ad light on top is blinding during the day and the night.

but from best i can tell by editing the misc.coronas settings in visualsettings.dat reduces it but also dulls emergency lighting.

Am i going about this wrong or is there a way I can isolate the taxi ad lights.

What leads me to suspect that there might be a way to isolate is because that park ranger truck pictured( SOLDI3RFX 's 2010 F350) light bar light bloom is very surpressed compared to other light bars(how is that changed?) to the point that when the misc.corona is edited where the taxi is no longer blinding they don't look good.

I am using Visual V in n with Radiance V

EDIT: I have tried Realistic radiance.

I am new to GTA Modding, and trying to learn what files do what and understanding how to edit them.

If you want brighter police lights i don't think there is a fix to make taxi signs less dark. I remember i saw a mod that made the signs darker but can't remember what mod. But as i said if you want bright police lights, you are gonna need to live with taxi signs brighter than satans butthole.

Check out custom visuals in the misc download section. It's a good alternative to radiance and within the download there is a separate taxi sign fix workaround with instructions.

You can use that regardless whether  you wanna use the rest of the mod or not.

Hmmm... I haven't thought of it before, but why not just replace the taxi with another model?  Like this one for instance... I'm sure all lighting issues will go away and the car will look much better.

Edit: I made it and uploaded it here,

If anyone is interested I "made" a fix.

The taxi fix in custom visuals basicly just applied a dark filter over the taxi ad textures, but gave the ads an orange hue and didnt dull it enough for me.

so I took the vanilla textures, I even replaced the ads with some of my own and then used paint.net to change the brightness till I liked it.

If there's interest I can Upload my edit to the vanilla taxi signs(with default ads)

Also I stuck with Visual V and Radiance V because custom visuals didnt work with some of the police cars I'm using.

Thanks guys for the input

PDaniels, specifically what settings for brightness did you use to dim the ads on the taxis on paint.net? I have some custom taxi ads that I want to fix and so far I haven't been successful.

Mvga has a custom taxi.ytd that fixes this issue.

  • 2 weeks later...

so i was wondering this as well. I am using Radiance and the taxi, bus and train signs are too bright. i uploaded my own custom signs for taxi but still the same. The other fixes for taxi signs just make a darker sign, which doesnt solve the issue just makes the signs harder to read. (I like to read the signs, it adds depth to the game)I did notice that when i got out of the taxi, after spawning in it, the lights go out, like headlights. so maybe a good fix would be to adjust that light for the sign or even upload a custom xml file for the taxi to lower the brightness of the taxi sign. I dont want to get rid of the signs as I have created my own ads. But same could be done for the train and buses.

Just a suggestion Any suggestions?
