Hey guys, long time lurker! :D First off RDE is probably my favourite mod for the game! Ive had good fun using it since installing but am experiencing one major issue (well major in my eye) cars whether they are npc or my own dissapear as in despawn after quite a short period of time. One example today I was playing with LSPDFR (another fantastic mod) I had finished at a incident turned around to get back in my patrol car and it had disappeared leaving me stranded in a gang neighbourhood. It seems as if the game or RDE is spawning too many cars and it has to compensate and get rid of some, is this intended? I have litterally been driving along and saw a car despawn in front of my eyes so a bit immersion breaking.

Is this related to memory usage? I have 8 custom ELS emergency vehicle mods and 6 standard car mods (all replacers) if that makes a difference.

I am sure that this isn't an RDE issue as this occurs in default GTA 5. It pisses me off so much especially when you go on a foot pursuit and then the initial scene despawns. There is a mod called "Entity Persistence" that fixes this. From the mod page:

Annoyed when you get out of your stolen car and walk a few feet away, only to turn around and find it gone? Or maybe you just stopped a criminal's car, and he ran a few blocks before you caught up. Maybe when you got back to the suspect's vehicle, you find that it's mysteriously gone, along with his friend's corpse, who was more violent and paid the price.
Now, you don't have to worry about these random disappearances. Once you've loaded this plugin, it will automatically add anything within a radius you set to a list. Anything in the list will be kept persistent and won't disappear until you get far enough away. Once you do, it will be removed from the list and therefore, it will no longer be persistent.
No longer do you have to worry about crime scenes looking like nothing ever happened.

Read the Readme's and mod pages, don't be stupid.

Ah I see, thanks for linking that mod caramel that looks exactly what I'm after! I also downloaded the stop shitting bricks mod as I saw you did a few pages back as the npcs would go mad otherwise ramming everything and running everyone over!

Do you know where the vehshare file is? I would like to replace the vanilla license plates with the real ones.

I remember in the previous RDE version (3.0) there was the vehshare file in a specific RDE folder, alone, that I don't remember what it was, and I'm guessing if it's the same with RDE 3.1.

I did a search and there doesn't seem to be one that was added in an RDE folder, maybe they used one shown in the pic that instead.59a1624d20b37_vehsharesearch.thumb.PNG.02997e742b083a980f6aa80c77f6d647.PNG

Also, try looking in here as well;

~:\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto V\mods\x64w.rpf\dlcpacks\mpbeach\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\gta5\vehicles\mpbeachvehicles.rpf\

In my case, historically I've also had to edit the 'vehshare.rpf' in the above for my custom License Plates to be properly applied. ~ being the Drive you've installed GTA V into.

For curiosity: if I'm about to revert GTA V to 1.0.1032 version, will it support RDE 3.1?

no...at least I think so because the some files will be to old for the newer version of rde.

I think I'm experiencing crashes due to the number of vehicles spawning when running lspdfr as it only crashes when a high number of cars are present and the npcs are going psycho.

So would there be any negative affect editing the popcycle file to reduce traffic?

If I download and install this mod, will it overwrite all my vehicles/uniforms etc that I have already installed?

no because you should install it with a clean mods folder!

Noob alert! What do you mean by clean mods folder? As in, install this before any other mods?

yes, just do this incase you are new:

1. create a folder in your directory named "mods".

2. copy the folder named "update" that is already in your gta5 directory and paste it into your mods folder.

3. the file update should be ~10-~20 GB so wait a few mins till it has been copy & pasted over.

4. once that is done use he openIV package installer and install the .oiv file your created with the RDE.exe file or use the one that is already prebuild and has default features.

5. wait for it to finish installing.

6. once done launch GTA5

7. Done!

if your game crashes before you are loading into the game you most likely did something wrong or changed files and messed them up.

I currently have lots of mods installed in my mods folder. Will I need to do a clean install of GTA V?

hell no, just remove the mods folder and create a new one.

If I remove my mods folder though, won't it remove all my uniforms/vehicles?

Yes, but when you install rde it will/might conflict with other.files you already had installed before the installation.
