GTA crashes when in Storymode and/or Online

Featured Replies

Good afternoon everybody!

I simply want to ask and maybe even get a solution from you guys here, I'll start right in:

Every time RockStar releases an update, my game will crash giving me the message "GTA V excited unexpectedly" whenever I

want to start the story mode or go online.

I don't know where those issues come from and I do not know how I fixed them last time. I did not play LSPDFR before, in fact I've been playing

online the entire time without any issues until then.

Now this problem occurs once again, does anybody know a solution to this thing? It's really annoying.

Very kind regards from Germany

Don't play online using Scripthook and TrainerV cuz you will be kicked from the game

Just don't insult or demeaned big or small efforts because i know that you can't do it so calm down and just watch their awesome work

I don't have any of them, I played - as I stated before - vanilla GTA without any scripthook files or .ASI or whatever else.
The game just crashes when joining storymode or online sessions without any reason. I already tried this GTA 5 File checker - nothing.

Repair you game to fix and find your missing files

You have few files are missed , so repair your game

if you have Steam version you are going to verify cache to repair your game
if you have Retail version you can go to control panel and click n Grand Theft Auto V then modify then Repair your game .

Doesn't work. It wants the path of GTAV_SETUP_Tool which does not exist for me.

I looked into my RockStar folder but it isn't there. Might be somewhere else?

Edit: I am sick of this, I'll just reinstall the game in case I can't figure anything else out now. Thank you for your help!

Don't have a disc for that. :D

It's digital but Social Club only, not on Steam.

Edit: Isn't there any way to repair it without the disc? I mean at least this option gets offered.

The hard solution would be the reinstalling.

Yeah go to your game's shortcut on your desktop then right click on it the Properties then add this "-verify" to the target box like this (respect the space) : ""F:\Games\Grand Theft Auto V\PlayGTAV.exe -verify"'

then Run your game as administrator
