Hi I have a coupe questions. First off, when I get out of the vehicle, the lights would go dim. It's still apparently flashing but it's not bright.

Also, is there a way to make it so when I have my siren on and get out of the vehicle, it will still be going off?

And my last one is, a lot of the time when I pull someone over and go back and run their name, when I hit the keys like j, k, l, it will turn the lights on and use the keys as if I'm not in my computer running their name.

Anyone have any help they can provide?

ELS is weird like that, change the toggle siren key to like X or something, and it will stay on, the keys just change to something else so it doesnt change on or off or patterns while running a name

Dont turn your engine off when youre leaving the car.Lights are flashing normal when the engine is on.

I've been using ELS for the past 2 years, and I've never had a problem with the engine being forced off, in any instance. But like Gonzy said, when you get out, just tap F to get out, holding F will turn the engine off.

Im turning my engine off only when there is no emergency situation (Going to buy a donut xD) when there is an emergency and my lights are on, i dont see any reason to turn my engine off. =)

The numbers will probably work best, but then you would be taking away the weapon keys. So I guess only if you have a controller you should do that, I'm not sure about the Num Pad though. Try that and see what happens, I'm not much of a keyboard user when it comes to GTA, I use a 360 controller for most things.

Asuna and theninja, don't start a pissing contest with each other, it can't end well.

I posted this in another thread, it's relevant here if you're having issues with turning off the engine when exiting the car:

You can edit how bright the ELS lights are by opening the visualsettings.dat file and finding the following lines:

car.defaultlight.emissive.on 100.00

car.defaultlight.emissive.off 100.00 

The number at the end represents the vaule set, lower for dimmer lights (30-40 for a somewhat realistic daytime lights, 100-130 for somewhat realistic night-time lights)

The on refers to whether or not the engine is on, and the off refers to the engine being off, setting them to the same value will make the AI cops leave the cars with the ELS lights on.
