Is There A Way To Recover GTA 5 Files By Accident

Featured Replies

I thought i did a backup through steam back up option. But now i lost the files cause i deleted all gta files from the gta5 folder cause ragehook told me the game was corruptelas when i tried to play the game. I was even following Jeff Favignano's tutorial.

The game itself is still installed on steam but the files are completely gone from the Gta5 folder. Is there a way to recover the deleted steam game files that i accidentally deleted?

I don't know if this would help but try looking through your recycling bin.

GTAIVCode3 The reason why i deleted the files by accident was cause i was trying to reinstall the game. Since Ragehook told me the the game files was corrupted and to reinstall it. And thinking i did a backup through steam backup option i deleted all the files so if even if i could retrieve the files it still be corrupted and not sure if it would be possible to recover them at all from the recycle bin unfortunately

Your topic has been moved to GTA V Support, this is not LSPDFR related.
Please post in the correct location in the future.

Thanks Willpv23 i thought it was the correct forum. I  always look carefully to find the correct forums before i write in the forums and i though it would be LSPDFR related since the issue happened while i was trying to install LSPDFR.

This screen shot might help you see the problem i'm talking about as you can see Steam says the game is installed, but as you can see on the left my GTA5 folder is completely empty.

Unless you can find the non corrupted backup, you're going to have to install a fresh copy.

Think i got it back, but for future reference how would i do a fresh install with steam?

Right click on the game in your library and click "delete local content". Once that's completed, you should see install where you would click play when going into play the game
