FPS Drop like crazy in pursuit

Featured Replies

For some reason since the latest GTA V update whenever in an LSPDFR pursuit and calling backup my fps drops to around 20fps, at maximum I'll get 25 fps if I'm lucky. No matter what my graphics settings are, what plugins I have, what mods I have, what vehicles I have the issue still happens and theres no getting around it. The only time it happens is when calling in backup and when the officers are within say 30 metres of my car. I can do the pursuit fine no lag, but asoon as I call a backup unit to assist and they arrive, the fps drops like crazy. It only happens in pursuits too, if I call a regular Code 2 or Code 3 or prisoner transport unit I'm fine.

I've tried removing plugins, using a clean install with just lspdfr and rph, I've tried running as admin, restarting pc everything.

Plugins being used: BreathalyzerRage, Emergency Strobes, EUP Clothing Menu, FootPursuitAid, MoreControlV, PedSearch, Vehicle Search, Spike Strips, Spotlight and Traffic Control.

LSPDFR Plugins being used: Agency Callouts, Arrest Manager, ArrestWarrantCallout, Assorted Callouts, CalloutsV, Code 3 Callouts, CrazyCallouts, Federal Callouts, LawCallouts, Panic Button, PoliceRadio, Realistic ALPR, Saferchases, Secondary Callouts, Traffic Policer and Wilderness Callouts.

I feel that this is making LSPDFR virtually unplayable since you can't really drive, let alone perform pursuit tactics at 20fps or lower. If anyone knows any reason why this is happening and could let me know that'd be great thanks. (PS. the reason this is in LSPDFR support is because I don't feel that it's something to do with my cars or plugins or anything since it only happens when in a pursuit and when LSPDR is loaded)

All good :)

Since it's not your specs that's causing the issue must be GTA V. What's your graphic settings set to?

I tried my own graphic settings and then used one's suggest by GeForce experience, I've tried highest settings I've tried as low as I can go, fps still drops to 20

Strange. Make sure all drivers are up to date. Take off vsync if it's on. How many cars do you call for backup?

Uninstall SaferChases and try again, that mod is pretty CPU intensive (which shouldn't be a problem with yours, but I have a similar issue with my i7).

Yeah he's right ^

Just installed Saferchases and when I called backup my FPS went from 60 to 20. So yeah will not be using that mod lol.

That's interesting, I've been using this mod for a couple of days now and haven't noticed any frame drops.  But it does say it's very CPU intensive in the description.

I would also suggest disabling some of the actions in the .ini file to see if it makes a difference.  I just opened it up and the last 3 commands people should be able to go without.  I'd try that to see if it makes a difference.

Very strange, didn't have many problems with SaferChases before, although now you've said that, I do recall updating it the other day when it started happening.. I guess I'll just have to wait for an update for it to somewhat 'fix' the issue. Very unfortunate though, it's a great plugin!

i am having the same issue but with just LSPDFR installed but not to this extreme. Mine drops between 45 - 50 FPS during pursuits. Can't find a fix anywhere

Before I started modding GTA V back like many many months ago I copied the GTA V directory, so I deleted my current GTA V directory and copied the clean one and then updated it through Steam, I then reinstalled EVERY plugin, leaving out the ones that aren't really needed and it seemed to have fixed the problem pretty much! I now get between 30-40 FPS in pursuits unless I'm calling in like 10 backup units then it gets relatively laggy. Another way to counter the SaferChases thing is to install LSPDFR+ since that now has a pursuit tactics menu which does what SaferChases does but with some extra options and it doesn't affect your FPS pretty much at all. Thanks for all the replies and support for the issue though, and for those still experiencing the problem I wish you luck in resolving it.

Funny thing is, I dont have SaferChases installed and I get something similar. With LSPDFR+ installed, I get stutters - not lags - while in pursuits. I have tried to fix it, but to no avail. What in the world could be causing this?

Computer is decent, i5 4460, GTX950, 8GB RAM

If you use ShadowPlay you can try disabling that whilst running GTA V, I found that caused a lot of stuttering, but it's more than likely just the game. Over the past few updates I've seen my FPS drop more and more and stuttering become a lot more frequent.

I know, bro, I know! It's a 971 thing, the previous one was fine, dammit! It had its problems, but damn, I could get rid of those. With these, I'm not so lucky.
