A few ideas for additions/changes

Featured Replies

Well, I guess this might work for a suggestions forum, too :S

Anyhow, here are a few ideas that I think should be implemented (Yes, all in one topic this time tongue.gif)

  • Recruiting police officers off of the street
This idea kind of comes from GTA:SA. In that game, you were able to recruits gangsters off of the streets to your "gang", and you had a cap on how much you could recruit. I'm not asking for all of that, I'm just asking that if we are looking at a police man on the street, and we press F5, then he joins the player, and follows them. (Also, as a bug, recruited cops don't leave you if you exit the mod.)
  • Start a traffic stop by standing next to a car
Just to ask people to get out of their vehicles.
  • Disable police "flashing their lights" while a cop
If you drive by a police car at a fast speed, they will flash their lights/sirens at you. That doesn't really make sense being a cop, since you're on their side.

Anyways, I hope these ideas get implemented!

I don't think any of the above in their current form should be implemented.

Recruiting cops poses a problem of realism. You have the ability to spawn as many partners as you want which should be sufficient, finding a random officer on the street and forcing him to be your partner just doesn't jive for me.

Traffic stops whilst on foot seem nonsensical to me unless they were part of a vehicle checkpoint or something.

Your third suggestion makes perfect sense but unfortunately things like this I have no control over as they are hardcoded in the game.

"You tell me exactly what you want, and I will very carefully explain to you why it cannot be."

I like the idea of checkpoints, if it were possible to kick into the game.

Eg; Make it one of the random calls (Suicidal person, drug deal, etc) perhaps (a 'rare' one though at least), a bank robbery, and have it spawn 'checkpoints' where you go and try to find the vehicle that has the bank robbers : P

While talking about checkpoints.. Is it possible to implant an option to 'spawn' a roadblock while on a pursuit?

I do not know if this is already asked. :s

Maybe not force, like when you ask them, they either say "Sure, I'll come along" (Or w/e audio file works for that), or they'll say the player can go screw themselves.

Yes. And even then, you should be able to walk up to any car and ask them to get out of the vehicle.

momieboy, your suggestion gave me another idea: calling in spike strips. Perhaps have the game calculate where an escapee is going, then spawn a blockade, with spike strips? I hate having to waste pistol/MG ammo for popping suspect's tires tongue.gif

Are there standard spikes in the game? can't remember when I had those on my tires..

I'm pretty sure that at a certain point, the police will start deploying spikes. Otherwise, I'm sure it would simple to just spawn a model on the road, and pop a car's tires when it drives over it. (Lol at the cops when they drive over it... too bad Need for Speed doesn't do that.)

I've never had spikes dropped in GTA IV, don't believe there are any.

Oh. Well, I bet some could easily be made tongue.gif

@Asuna: I only saw a site suggestions section.
