GTA4 Doesn't Load / Stops Responding

Featured Replies

Hello all,

So basically for the past 4 days I've tried playing this MOD cuz I thought it was cool as hell. Had a working game file of GTA4, installed the mod and then it corrupted the game. So over the past 4 days I've uninstalled, reinstalled, reuninstalled and rereinstalled GTA4 and can't seem to get this to work. GTA4 either wouldn't open after I patched, or it wouldn't install correctly, finally got it installed and running, but now whenever I try to load the LCPDFR mod the game won't even start. Yes I have tried running as admin, yes I have it unmarked for read only.

I'd really love to get some insight on what I can do to fix this, i've went through about 15 pages on the forums trying to get a solution but it seems like I'm just not having very good luck with this.

Appreciate any help given, this mod looks amazing.

Please update your game to the newest patch (1.0.7.0), Which can be located here: http://support.rocks...-0-5-2-japanese since your diagnostics log states that your game isn't fully updated.

I'm about to give up, I go through the update process via both the manual AND live patches. The game won't boot up after I patch and now it still says its on 1.0.0.0 not sure what else to do I mean this is getting ridiculous.

I can't get it to patch to 1.0.7, I dont know what to even do, I've done about 9 clean reinstalls and whenever it patches the patch messes it up, it still says its on 1.0.0 even though I've downloaded it from the Game Updater and manually did it. Probably nothing you guys have heard of, guess the next thing I can try is reinstall windows but eh. I really wanted to try LCPDFR looked like alot of fun and now this game is taunting me lol.

Yeah re installing windows is the last thing you wan't to do...

I know in your main post you already stated your running a legit copy, but since you can't update it, it seems as if your using a crack, your sure your not using a crack or something? Because we only support legit purchased copys of GTA IV.

Make sure you are installing the correct file. There are two that come with the 1.0.7.0 patch and using the wrong one won't work. I suggest trying the other installer file that came in the download.

I'm not using any cracks, I have the discs right infront of me, it installs fine, when I run the patch it says its installed but the game will not open after I run the patch. When I very first got GTA I had problems getting it to work properly on windows 7.

And I'm sure the patches are correct, I've clicked peoples links for 1.0.7 patch.

And lastly, I'm thinking of reinstalling windows just because I need to anyway sooner or later and I'm hoping it would fix this problem too.

I have the exact same problem it sucks because it looks like fun, I don't even own the game anymore because thats what i bought it for. So since it didn't work I just sold my game. IT'S RIDICULOUS!!!!!

I actually figured out how to get this fixed.

Uninstall the game, make a new folder outside of your program files folder and install it there, this seems to be true for Windows 7 because after checking (Win 7 Ultimate 64bit) no matter if you make the folder for admin securities or uncheck read-only it would revert to old settings causing GTA to act weird (not update/refusing to open etc). After doing this it finally patched to 1.0.7 and works normally now.

Edit: I was finally able to install LCPDFR 95 and load the game with no problems.
