GTA:O and mods

Featured Replies

Alright, I just have a simple question. I know mods aren't supported online, and I'm quite happy with that. GTA Online should remain fair for everyone. But I was wondering. I want to try out LSPD:FR, because I'm kinda bored of LCPD:FR now. But could I actually get banned if I want to play online? Not trying to run LSPD:FR online, because it wouldn't work, but for example, can Rockstar just scan my files, see that I've a Ragehook of some sort and place me in the online modders/cheaters banning list if I play GTA Online with the LSPD:FR and Ragehook files installed?

I wouldn't try it. When I play online, I simply move all of my mod files, including the RAGE Hook file, to a separate folder. I don't know if this is necessary, but I'd rather play it safe. When you want to play modded again, just move all your mod files back into the folder.

LCPDFR and LSPDFR. No ":" in any of our mods.

And no, you won't get banned unless you bring mods into Online. With that said, to be on the safe side, remove any and all non-vanilla files when entering Online. Rockstar does scan your directory for mods. I haven't been banned though!

Rockstar stated that any form of mods brought into GTA Online will result in disciplinary actions. I'd assume this means anything non-vanilla brought into the game, including LSPD:FR. They mentioned it on one of their articles they write on their website, I'll try to find the link and update my response.

As long as you don't use mods in Online, you should be fine. I've had the RPH + scripthook, albeit disabled (and ASI-mods) in my GTA V root folder, and I haven't been banned. Had it like that for several months now already. Again, it's LSPDFR. We're not developing LSPD:FR ;)

Alright, thanks for the answers. Since I'm at it, I can't find the installation folder of GTA V for the retail version, any idea anyone?
