L1 issues need fixing..

Recommended Posts

Hey people,

I've been fiddling around with a few peoples unlocked models in the hopes of making something spectacular however I have run into the issue of not know how to create/fix/install new L1's on said models.. Does anyone know of any video tutorials that could help me or able to give me any pointers please?

Cheers and Namaste :turned:

If it's unlocked, load the model/textures in Zmod.  In Select -> By Name, type _L1.  Click show all in the hierarchy and delete them.  Then Select -> By Name, type _L0.  Create -> Copy.  Rename the new _L0's to _L1.  Export and enjoy.

That completely defeats the purpose of having an L0 and L1...the idea is that the L1 is lower detail to save memory. Just copying the L0 makes having any other LOD pointless. I know GTA uses the other LODs for more than just the actual detail level (I think the L1 determines where bullet holes show up or something? It's been a while), but copying the L0 isn't how it's supposed to be done. This is one of the reasons car mods break GTA - the unnecessarily large file size.

Make the L1 lower poly. It really just needs to be the shape of whatever it's supposed to be, with only some detail. The L2 should pretty much be just a shape.

That is true but if you don't know how to create lower poly versions then this method works.  It's what I use on my models and they're always stable.
