Getting whether a player is in a pursuit

Featured Replies

I was wondering if it was possible to see if the player is in a pursuit, and if so, be able to modify that pursuit (add peds to it, cancel it, etc).

The plugin itself would not have been the one to start the pursuit.

Do you mean LSPDFR recognizing that you are in a pursuit when it wasn't LSPDFR triggered? I agree that this would be a great feature. Or simply the ability to mark any pedestrian or any vehicle as wanted, regardless of if they've committed a crime or not. We could just drive up to someone and mark them as wanted, and other officers will attempted to arrest them. Would be pretty cool.

Not necessarily -- I didn't do a good job of explaining. I meant that a pursuit that's controlled by LSPDFR and then modify that pursuit from an LSPDFR plugin.

To my knowledge, LSPDFR plugins are only triggered by a callout being dispatched.

If there's a way of calling LSPDFR functions from a normal Rage plugin, then you could do it. But I'm not sure if that's possible.

I unfortunately do not have enough free time to answer every PM that I get. For issues with my plugins, please post in the comments section of the file, or it's forum thread. You'll get a much quicker response from me there than if you send me a PM; I do my best to respond to every question in the comments sections. For API/programming questions, please post them in the API Development forum, so all developers can benefit from the answer as well. Thanks!

After a bit of testing, it seems like they do work... sort of. Positioning seems to be really off, spawning entities near the map boundaries instead of in-front of the player, and I'm assuming more weirdness aside from that.

Plus, I don't think you can load and unload them at will, which is a bit annoying when testing -- you can always reload LSPDFR and that works, but then you're off duty and all that.

I doubt it (the API) was ever intended to do anything aside from triggering callouts. That's probably why you're seeing general weirdness like that.

As for reloading LSPDFR, yeah, you're off duty, but you don't have to drive to the station. The "force duty" keybind is Space+F9. I had tried it, and thought it wasn't working. But just yesterday I read on the forum that you have to do it while running. Then you hit Space to jump, and then while in the air, hit F9. Your character transforms into a cop, lol.

Yeah, I know this, but it'd still be nice to have a reload command for LSPDFR plugins.

Maybe I'm just being lazy though :P
