Well I would personally go with a desktop if I were you. But if you were really wanting to get a laptop then just get a decent processor, like duel core maybe,  and just make sure it comes with a good graphics card.

So guys, I need some help, I want to buy a laptop so that I can play grand theft auto, but I need to know.

http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-Satellite-C55-C5240-Laptop-Intel/dp/B00VFY8LY2/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1435990340&sr=1-1&refinements=p_n_feature_four_browse-bin%3A2289793011%2Cp_n_feature_five_browse-bin%3A7817224011%2Cp_n_feature_two_browse-bin%3A5446812011

If I buy that laptop, Can I play GTA 4 and 5, add some mods to both, play a couple of need for speed games and get some decent gaming on this laptop?

 http://www.amazon.com/MSI-GP60-Leopard-836-15-6-Inch-Gaming/dp/B00TI6TAB2/ref=sr_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1435990531&sr=1-4&refinements=p_n_feature_four_browse-bin%3A2289793011%2Cp_n_feature_five_browse-bin%3A7817224011%2Cp_n_feature_two_browse-bin%3A5446812011#productDetails

Or do I have to buy this one?

If you're going to choose between the two, then obviously pick the more expensive one. The better graphics card alone makes it worthwhile.

If you really want a laptop, buy the MSI one. The processor of the Toshiba is slower than that of MSI.

Other just go and buy a desktop. A desktop is upgradable and produces less heat, and is more efficient.

The MSI laptop is a great deal honestly, for a gaming laptop. The Satellite has Intel HD, which is horrible for gaming, and its 2.2GHz processor, even as an i5, isn't as good for regular use.

Essentially:

  • MSI GP60 Leopard's 3.5GHz i5 processor > Toshiba Satellite's 2.2GHz i5 processor
  • MSI GP60 Leopard's NVIDIA GeForce GT940M > Toshiba Satellite's Intel HD (looks like HD 5500 @300MHz)
  • MSI GP60 Leopard's screen resolution (1920x1080) > Toshiba Satellite's screen resolution (1366x768)
  • Both laptops have 1TB of hard drive space and Windows 8.1

I did see this though in the specs for the MSI laptop:

Which possibly suggests that the battery does not come with the laptop, because on the Satellite:

So I should just get the leopard laptop instead if I want decent gaming?

Yes indeed. Because the toshiba one honestly is crap, with that intel hd you will barely run gta v at all, and you will have really bad frames. The msi leopard one will most likely run the game atleast on medium to high settings with 30+fps. It's well worth the more expensive price.

Laptops and Games are a no-no.

Yeah, but I really want a laptop, something portable that I can carry around.

Yes then do as i and other people said, and buy the MSI leopard one instead of the toshiba. It will give you a lot more performance than the toshiba.

Ehh this isn't really true anymore. The ones you find at Best Buy/Walmart of course will not play games, but the ones made by companies like ASUS and MSI will be fine for gaming, they are just really pricey.

ASUS Maximus VII Hero Motherboard

EVGA GTX 970 4GB

Intel Core i5-4690k

20 GB RAM

Windows 10 Pro

You're taking a chance if you do. Those devices are being resold after someone sent them back after they bought it new, usually because there was an issue with the device. I don't know if the companies fix those issues before selling them again, though.

Laptops are likely to overheat at some point playing gta v unless it's a very good one.

And you need something at least 3:GB or 4:GB graphics card but you still can run it on very high settings i just seen some gameplay with it pretty good laptop go with the MIS one.

Really Cause I am play gta5 on laptop.  I been playing a lot of game on said laptop since october.  No probelms at all.

A lot depends on your budget.  I been playing GTA5 on MSI GS70.  Which has a gtx970m card and it runs great.    I do recomand getting a external cooling fan.  And at the very least use when you game at home.

guess mine a very good one.  Even though it less then inch thick. IT has yet to over heat with GTA5.

GTA IV doesn't run good on anything but that laptop is weak all the way around, processor and video card are not good by any means.  The i5s on laptops are only 2 cores.  Desktop is cheaper, laptop is more convenient so take your pick.  If you want a decent laptop for games (GTA games in general even) then you're probably going to want to spend at least $800.
