I think a cool thing would be to incorporate the wanted music into the chases. When you join a pursuit or someone flees from a traffic stop, wanted music could start playing, and it would play out in the same way when the player is wanted. When you've lost a visual, the music could go to when the cops have lost eyes on you when you're wanted, and so on.

Might be a good idea, but seeing as i'm focused on realism, all i want to hear during a chase are loud-ass sirens.

Well considering after awhile I would find it annoying and most of the time when I play a game I listening to hard rock :D

It could be an option in an ini, hopefully lspdfr 0.2 will come with an ini, I hope.

I'd love to hear music while driving a cop car.  So I've been looking for a vehicle.ide file, haven't found it yet, nor anything similar.  In GTAIV, that is where you can implement the radio in the police vehicles, so if I can locate that file should be able to do the same.
