Loss of Mods after updates !Help!

Featured Replies

I wanted to see if anyone knows of a fix to this...... Everytime I turn off my computer or restart it I have to let GTA 5 update. By doing this I seem to loose any modded vehicle textures, ped textures or anything I have changed with open IV. Does anyone know of a work around so that I do not have to keep adding these files everytime I turn off and back on my computer???

I usually play the game through rage hook And offline mode.

Thanks

So i should just re download OpenIV? I think i have this version...

I will try it though thanks

i mean you have to have a separate folder for mods

quoted from the link above:

"

The latest version of OpenIV and OpenIV.ASI provide support for mods folder that can be very useful in the following cases:

  • You have DVD or Rockstar Games Warehouse version of GTA V and every time you edit files Launcher download original files back"

OK i saw somone talking about this somwhere else too.

Makes sense.

Can i still do this with component peds, and vehicle replacements?

you can modify everything just fine including peds, vehicles, sounds and so forth. just make sure not to mess up the paths (in the mods folder), otherwise it won't work. it's a bit of a headache for sure, but on the bright side it's a great way to avoid messing up your ogininal gta v files.

OK so i was able to create the mods folder but im not too sure where to go from here...

Is there any way you could walk me through it?

Im not insanely computer/modding savy (otherwise I would have figured it out by now) but I can navigate it if you could tell me what I need to copy, paste...etc into the mods folder and how to do it.

Lets say I want to put the  Police Bike Improvements [New in version 1.3] from Netman in my game through the mods folder, how do i go about doing this?? I know how to do it the original way by replacing.

PS Feel free to dumb it down lol I wont be offended

Thanks

The tutorial is pretty clear:

6 – Now you have to copy RPF archives into mods folder. For example, if you want to modify Grand Theft Auto V\update\update.rpf you need to copy it like Grand Theft Auto V\mods\update\update.rpf.

The following table is explain how you need to copy archives to mods folder. The path to RPF archive in mods folder must be the same as in real GTA Vfolder, here is some examples:

Grand Theft Auto V – Original archive path Path in “mods” folder
GTAV\update\update.rpf GTAV\mods\update\update.rpf
GTAV\common.rpf GTAV\mods\common.rpf
GTAV\x64\audio\sfx\SCRIPT.rpf GTAV\mods\x64\audio\sfx\SCRIPT.rpf
GTAV\update\x64\dlcpacks\mpheist\dlc.rpf GTAV\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\mpheist\dlc.rpf
GTAV\x64e.rpf GTAV\mods\x64e.rpf
