ELS V8.5 - NOT WORKING/Frozen/not functioning

Basically, I have a selection of ELS V8.5 compatible cars, which I have added to a fresh install of GTA4; these police cars have frozen lights like that of the picture which should be attached. I have done every conceivable thing (since before reinstalling GTA4 a fresh, it worked absolutely fine). Things done is:

Replacing script hook, installing ELS a fresh, installing LCPDFR Before/after/not at all; fresh GTA4 directory, Slot Control showing all vehicles as 'ON' (i.e. mapped correctly)  -- nothing is working. For all intensive purposes, my ELS is frozen/not working. When I press CTRL M no dash board comes up, and not sign of ELS, since CTRL Backspace shows nothing. The weird thing is that when I press 'G', the sirens activate. GTA 4 doesn't crash, runs very stable, but ELS cannot be switched on. 

 

Any support leads would help, I am a novice to this site which means I can't find any other similar problem to mine, but have done everything I/few others can think of. Please help me!!

Your thread has been moved to the GTA IV Support Requests forum, as it is not an LCPDFR support request.

Sometimes if you don't replace certain things it won't allow the ELS to work. Just import all of the files inside your directory and play the game. I think that might fix it

What are the certain things? Not sure what you mean about importing files (it's just a drag and drop type pack!) 

Import all of the files in the ELS 8.5 file into your directory which will replace the things in order for it to work

Done that, whereby I download ELV8.5 again, and replace ALL files. Doesn't work!

To be honest, I don't understand what your suggestion meant. I have re installed ELS again - to no avail.

​Could you make a screenshot of your GTA 4 Folder?

Did you name the ini files correctly in the slotcontrol.ini? (Inside the ELS-Folder)

Do you have both of these installed?

Hi! I think I have a solution.

 All of the YouTubers(people) do this, they copy-ing all the files from the .rar archive, I don't know how their ELS v8.5 works then. But this method didin't worked for me. So see my picture "1.step". I will explain it.

1. step: Select all files inside .rar file, except "common". Then extract/drag them to you GTA 4 root folder. (see my photo "1. step")

2. step: <For this step you need original GTA 4 "common" folder, that came with your GTA!!! You can download it on internet. If you dont have it.> Open "common" folder that is located in .rar file. And then open the original "common" folder, that is located in your GTA 4 root folder.  (see my photo "2. step")

3. step: Drag and drop "visualSettings.dat"  to "Grand Theft Auto IV/common/data". 

 

It's done! I hope I helped you :)     (it's worked for me, I'm sorry for screenshots of the game 'cause it's corrupted)

I'm not too sure how that would help, as your still placing a unneeded file in the same place, If you have a ENB, you don't need that file.

You can watch a tutorial on how to setup ELS > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdxKiozw5KQ. Also the letter 'G' is the default GTA IV control to activate the sirens.

Also have you tried any other versions of ELS? 

Are you 100% sure that the Police Vehicles are ELS enabled?

Now right click LaunchGTAIV.exe and run as Administrator.

I tried to help, because its worked for me. I had a same problem. Maybe I just solved it some other way. (bad english,sorry)

GTA IV is very unpredictable, installing it one time may work, installing it another may not.

To the OP. I installed ELS 8.51 and I now have the problem you have. Idk if there is something wrong with it or what. But just use ELS V8.5.
