Really? Because I thought of the main target market as parents of teenagers, not necessarily the government.

I did. I like the idea a lot, wish they would institute it here in the states for people who speed. Kinda like interlocks for DUI convicts.

Did it

This device just recording speed measurement and current speed limit, correct? Not car coordinates nor any other parameters?

Well to record speed zones it would have to record gps data or some other kind of location data as well as time and date.

I really can't take this survey, as I'm technically too young to drive yet, although I am close to that age of eligibility. Are there other sources of feedback for this survey? The statistical side of me would like to note that this survey would be quite biased because the people on these forums should be more for safety regulation and enforcement than the rest of the internet. Also, this survey is what would be called a "convenience sample", and the results really cannot reflect the whole population's point of view on this issue.

Ideally, you would use a survey that takes a Simple Random Sample of drivers in the country or region where this new device might take hold, and survey their opinions. Since this is just for a course presentation, though, carry on with the survey! :P

Just took a stats class?

A simple random sample would be pretty much impossible; you could approximate it with random dialing, but, especially as this is for school...

Haha, actually, I am in the process of taking one, and I find it fascinating. That's why I noted at the end to carry on, as it was for school. Although it probably would be very difficult to conduct one, I was just saying it was the ideal method of survey for something like this. If the government was actually considering this, they would assign this task to a polling company such as Gallup to do that. You probably know that already, though. Unless I'm incorrect- I'm in the process of learning!
