What enb can my GPU bear?

Featured Replies

My processor is intel i3 and graphic card is a nvidia GTX 670.

I've tried with all 3 CryEnb's at the lowest settings and my GTA IV still has troubles handling it fluently, I get let's say, 30 fps running at the lowest settings.

I'm looking for a enb that runs at 30-35 FPS on my computer but that is as good as CryEnb both in daylight and for police sirens, but I know it's impossible for the settings my PC has.

Does anyone know ENB's that look great for ELS lights, that are very realistic during daylight such as CryEnb, and that are very low?

Do you know what i3 it is? It might be bottlenecking that 670.

I'm not trying to get you to upgrade, but if your processor is bottlenecking your GPU (the processor isn't powerful enough to handle the card), then the GPU performance is lowered.

         Processor: Intel® Core i3-2120 CPU @ 3.30GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.3GHz

Damn I knew my CPU could be obstructing my performance: i3 is quite old.

Is there anyone who uses GTX 670 and can run powerful enbs cause using another processor?

@AngeloCosma: I tried that enb too! I can run it let's say same as CryEnb, it ain't much different.

I'm running a 560 and use >Game4Video with no problems whatsoever. That being said, I also run an i7, so your processor is most likely bottlenecking your GPU as stated above.

You might get away with game4video like venixlux has mentioned.  If you are serious about the 30ish FPS number.

[EDIT]  Just to mention I was running at that time 1680x1050res to have those stats.

My old PC had a slightly better CPU than yours and a weaker GPU.  660 normal compared to your 670.  (it still is a crapshoot with GTA IV,  you could have identical systems performing wildly different from each other.  I think my stats were commonly 25-45fps)

I'm always one of those people,  back up your stuff before attempting.   If something goes wrong or you need to reinstall/test other ENBs,  you could be saving hours with a good back up folder or copy of GTAIV.

I feel it is more of a mid performance ENB.   Very simple,  no hassle,  good looking emergency lighting.  It doesn't do much with the rest of the world though.

Can you make me a favor please? Run DarkEnb v1.2 or CryEnb V1 on mid-mid high settings and let me know feedback.

I wasn't able to find DarkEnb, but I was able to use CryEnb v1 on pretty high settings with no real issues. I actually kind of like it more than game4video.

Then it's true, i3 is bottlenecking my GPU because by running lowest enb CryEnb with a different commandline I get around 25-30 FPS, which it's not that is unplayable, but still I have to lose a lot in graphics.

Tnx venixlux.
