Get rid of the fat cops?

Featured Replies

So I looked around before posting and found the solution was to replace M_M_Fatcop_01 with M_Y_Cop in pedgrp.dat, I did this however it didn't solve the issue. While calling in backup, to my surprise the fat-cops still respond. They may be pretty funny but they're also useless in foot pursuits.

Like I said, already tried the posted solution but I still have the fat cop responding to stuff. Any alternate solutions?

By far, the easiest thing to do would be to replace the fatcop model with a different one of your choosing, and then edit the peds.ide file to change their walking animations from the slow fat ones to something else.

Yeeeah I've never been good with those things. Like, I know where pretty much every file is because of the countless times I've modded GTA but when it comes to actually editing values inside the ped stuff, It's confusing. I would probably go through the trouble, but in the process break something.

If anyone is offering any help with it, Sure. but otherwise I have no idea what I'm doing if I had to edit peds.ide, and change any animations around.

Here is what a line in the peds.ide looks like:

M_M_FatCop_01, M_M_FatCop_01_p, COP, move_m@fat, GESTURES@MALE, GESTURES@M_PHONE, FACIALS@M_LO, visemes@m_lo, 0, move_m@fat, null, -1,-1, PED_TYPE_PLAYER, VOICE_PLY_CR,   VOICE_PLY_CR

Changing the bold entries to something like move_m@generic or even move_cop will change how the ped moves. make sure you change both to the same thing.

Why would you want to get rid of some of the funniest NPC's in the game? I have cleverly edited my pedgrp.dat file so they are still in my game, but at a lesser number.

Cheers.
