whether to buy GTA IV on steam?

Featured Replies

I think to buy gta 4 on steam. but I read that the steam does not allow changes to the game (scripts, mods, "enb", etc). Is this true? I can use the steam version of the game on the internet in LCPDFR? Or maybe it's worth to buy it elsewhere. I do not know much about this matter, so I ask for your help. What part of the game's better to buy? EFLC or just 4?
PS Can I play with a simple 4(without EFLC) LCPDFR on the internet ?
Thanks.

No. You can mod the steam version just like you can the disk version.

You don't need EFLC to play LCPDFR, however EFLC does add more vehicles (including police vehicles) and weapons to the game, as well as having all of the map unlocked by default. If you can, I'd buy the complete edition, which includes both EFLC and the original game.

To add to what was said above: Just because you can use mods in multiplayer, doesn't mean you should. It can be highly annoying for other players. Make sure that all players are aware of you using mods, or find people to play with that are okay with it.

ok. thank you very much! I tried EFLC, but it seemed to me that it is difficult to set a mods. Especially ENB. There is a folder TBoGT and TLAD, it is not clear in what you need to set the mod. It's probably hard for me.

not even bad for wireless connection

Yeah, it's pretty easy when you get used to it. Just takes time. Good Luck

Also, search on this website, there's many topics recommending good mods for new players to install. (Simple Native Trainer being one of the most important, imo)
