Im not a big fan of Chevy police vehicles but the new Caprice looks far more comfortable than the new Taurus. I guess thats why our dept is getting all SUV's.

And for those of you talking about buying used police vehicles look around. I looked at many before buying an 05 crown vic and its the best one i ever bought.

2. The new Caprice was designed and built by Holden for Holden, in Australia, and was later adapted for Chevrolet in the U.S. The Pontiac GTO ('00s model) and G8 were also Holden designed and manufactured in Australia.

Exactly, the new Caprice is Australian. And so is the GTO/G8 Pontiac models.

The Impala that I've been using is fairly nice. It's a little slow to heat up during the winter as compared to my Chevy Trailblazer SUV, but it seats comfortably and drives pretty well. All the light, heating/ac, and stereo controls are sort of too elaborate for my tastes. I leave the headlight switch on 'auto' but the heater/ac fan speed can freely turn between the normal 4 "levels" of output which kind of makes things more confusing than they need to be, imo. Hard to feel exactly where you are when the knob is perfectly round, smooth and spins freely. All inner comforts aside though, the car drives well, which is what matters most to me as I'm using it as an A to B car on lots rural roads, short stretches of highway and a few urban streets leading to work ever day.
