Exploding Minivan: A Rookie's Interesting Anecdote

Featured Replies

Hey all. Just downloaded LCPDFR today after seeing a video on Youtube of it late last night, and so far I've been having a blast (figuratively up until this point).

My first day on the job began with a huge shootout in Hove Beach, then with a thwarted mugging. After that I pulled over a reckless driver in his low rider (probably trying to show off to the girl in the passenger seat :P). So then I patroled around for a bit, looking for something to bring justice down upon, when I see a minivan driven by a homeless-model pedestrian shoot through an intersection, cutting off a pick up and almost causing a collision. So I pull him over, get to the window and nab his license. As I'm running him through the computer, I suddenly hear a rather startlingly close explosion, followed by the "ear-ringing" effect. I logout of the computer and see that my front end has been mashed in, my car moved several feet, and the van I had pulled over was now a flaming scrap heap, the driver a smoldering corpse on the ground.

Did LCPDFR add terrorist hobos to Liberty City? Was he compromised and didn't want to be taken in? (He had a warrant for his arrest according to the database).

Anyway, just wanted to come into the community on my first post with something good, and I look forward to seeing where this game goes and interacting with all of you.

Cheers!

Honestly, I was expecting the first or second reply to be someone explaining it to be a bug in the game or something. Good to see we can keep the mystery going!

What was the bug?

Damn, nobody was supposed to find out about that feature until the next build. :(

On a more serious note, thanks for downloading and enjoying the mod so far. Wish I could have seen that on video.

Nice story! The only time that has ever happened to me is in a pursuit, and that usually results in an evacuation by my partner and I before a chain reaction starts!
