When computer is plugged into wall....

Featured Replies

After a while of gaming I can hear the buzzing of electricity loudly going to my charger, is that normal? I have to keep my alienware plugged in to get the best performance with my dual nvidias....

Well, it is an Alienware...

but it could be a cooling problem. Do you have it lifted up off of whatever you're setting it on? A lack of air could cause a lot of noise.

There is no noise coming from the actual computer, I can hear it  inside of the wall plug...

Sounds like and electrical problem to me, wouldnt us that plug anymore if possible

Just tried it at my friend's house, no noise.. do you think that if I plug it in the outlet it will burn out the charger or burn or break my computer?

You should use a surge protector.

Do you know if a normal extension cord would be able to protect it? Also how much are surge protectors?

I have these around my house, are these the proper ones? k2-_7613a806-bf50-464c-bd74-1b9652d72f56

Your average surge protector is going to be about $20, but a normal extension cord should suffice.
