Removing annoying vehicle extras?

Featured Replies

So i have bxbug's Chicago PD CVPI, but it has that unit number plate thingy on top of the lightbar.  I want to get rid of it but i dont have zmodeler (it wont install for some reason). is there anyway to like deactivate that extra part in open iv or something?

Thanks,

Rag

PS - Mods i dont know if this the right place for this, if it isnt please move it to the proper forum - Thanks

Even if you did have Zmod, the model is locked, so you couldn't edit it. The only thing that I can really think of is just have a transparent texture in place of the ALPR texture. Let me know if that works!

SCNG FTW!!

And this is why people shouldn't lock cars.

It's so that the model and its purpose remain authentic. If the author wanted to release a CPD CVPI, he wants it as a CPD CVPI., because that's where his effort and research went into. Second, parts that are valuable to the author could be ripped off.

this ''ripped car'' thing is really not legit if you look at it. most models are ripped from other games. That's somehow alright and great works 'n stuff. but when one guy want to edit it abit its a crime?

Somthing is wrong here. modders should not have more power or be above someone else here.

In the end. we are ALL rippers.

Alllright, here's something. You put a lotta effort into making an accurate, let's say LAPD crown vic. You do a lot of research. Takes you a lot of time. You do everything to find out all about equipment en lights and decals and everything. After a long period you know all about it. Then you start to create or collect all the equipment etc. that you need. You finally got/made it all and starts adding it. You finally get everything working properly ingame. You release this project with the pride of its accuracy. And then someone downloads it and replaces your authentic livery, where you spend a lotta research on. He makes an NYPD skin or whatever. There goes your lots of effort making a decent accurate mod in five minutes.

Boohoo.

Not to get even more off topic..

But that is exactly how i feel.

I Understand they put some effort into making the parts but.. Really? Its all turning the modding community into a big pack of gossip and betrayal.... Parts should just be shared.. Whats the point of keeping them all private.. -_- I will never know.

Either way, I Think the only way would be the transparent texture.

ok seriously, compeast, this is not the place for your discussion. make a thread for it or pm someone, this thread is now redundant.

Thank you,

Well what if the person who wanna use it just like it a bit different? why can't they just let ppl change something on a car so they like it? hell why release it then?

they are not gonna take down the car you uploaded and replace it.

Glad you solved it. I don't really like it either, but  some CPD vehicles actually have that:

the part that annoys me the most about it is the position, its like, CPD at least put it in the center so it doesnt make everything look shitty
