Iowa Police Pull Over Couple in Labor (Or Labour)

Featured Replies

When police in Iowa saw a car barreling down a highway early Tuesday morning, they pursued it with sirens blaring and had to go so far as to throw spikes on the road to halt the car.

We always hear cases of the Police doing things that are wrong, never of them doing good.

Edit: I didn't say that what the Police did here was wrong, I said that we always hear of the Police doing wrong, and very rarely hear of them doing good. This is because of the media trying to give law enforcement a bad reputation. Read carefully next time please, thanks!

Police doing things wrong?

I don't see how they were in the wrong here. Regardless of what's occurring, going 30+ over AND failing to yield to police is still wrong. A 30 second stop to tell the cops what is happening and then get help in getting to the hospital would have been much more effective than depending on a dispatcher to relay info and then expect the police to just go about their day.

If the police had let them continue to speed off and they killed a family on the road cause of their speed we would be reading a post about how negligent the police were...

In my opinion, the driver should have slowed down and been pulled over. They could have explained what was going on to the officer. There's so many other jackasses speeding and showing off, they can't be so sure. A few years ago, there was a baby that was successfully delivered in a car during a snowstorm near where I live. I think they shouldn't blame the police force for doing that, they had to stop that vehicle if it was going insanely fast like that. They could have injured other people on the road, even possibly injuring themselves.

They weren't in the wrong here at all. They followed protocol, and did the right thing afterwards.

Or possibly even killed.

That was really really stupid, damn. So many stories when cops helped people to get to the hospital, even providing an escort, like here. Instead he choose to put everyone in danger.

And I wonder how long did it take for them to call 911, since police had enough time to install spikes.
