Hey guys, Can anyone help with what is wrong with the game.I have been playing GTA IV for just a bit now and everytime I press the buttons from A-Z it stutters or mini lag.Some buttons around A-Z also does this like the number buttons.Like riding a car I press w to go forward and it stutters.Please does anyone have any advice to how make it stop.My computer meets all the requirements to play it and a way lot more.Please help me anyone?

Intel Core i7 2600 3.4GHZ

Motherboard 3.0

470W PowerSupply

8GB DDR3 1333 RAM

2TB Hard Drive

1GB Gigabyte N550GT Graphics Card

The whole computer is brand new.Bought it last Weekend Sunday.

How on earth is that a big enough PSU? God damn.

Does it only happen with the mod or when you're running vanilla GTA? Is your keyboard wired or wireless? What if you lower the graphics settings of the game?

You need a decent branded 650W PSU minimum for that setup........

i don't have a wireless keyboard.When I lower the settings it lagged even more.the frames per seconds dropped.I don't know why.I don't have any mods on the game yet.Just the normal GTA IV.Please do you have any advice on how to stop this?

Hm I don't want to say 'go and buy a new psu' without ruling everything else out because it doesn't sound like it'd be a power supply problem without your rig actually struggling more. Can you play other system--demanding video games?

How about your graphics drivers? Are they up to date? Maybe redownload them from the Nvidia website. What's your CPU usage like as per task manager? Have you got other things open in the background while playing?

My only other idea is a bad install. Is it a retail copy of the game?

I bought the game at BT Games a shop for buying games at a Mall near us.So I bought it retail its not a copy.My CPU Usage is from 1-3% I have 3 windows open and 2 things installing now.I have re installed gta iv now.I will see if it has stopped.I can play Dead Island a game that came out now, without that lagging or anything.The thing is I bought a gaming computer the best one I could find where I live.It wasnt cheap at all and what I cant understand is why cant a computer this good play these games?

And also I am installing lcpdfr v0.95 after i installed it and done how do i put it on the game so i can play it?

Check for things running in the background on your PC. Check nothing is downloading updates like anti virus software or worse torrent stuff.

Anything running in the background will obviously take resourses.

Above post: Once in game press left Alt + P and then go to a police station to go on duty. After pressing left Alt + P the screen may go blury, just press P on its own once to reset that. Also if it works ok the map will now have police staions marked by stars.

If you are asking how to actually instal the mod after downloading, then whatch the video that can be found in the support section.

If you check out one of the forum topics I've linked to in my post above, someone suggests using msconfig to disable event log to fix the problem and it seems to be successful.

I have done everything exactly like I should.Installed v0.95 I have the script files and everything.I right clicked GTA IV on desktop and went to properties then to compatibility then clicked in the tick box run as admin.But when I open the game it doesnt want to start.PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Download and install GFWL (Games for Windows Live). Just do a quick Google search for it.

I have downloaded it.If I didnt i wouldnt have been able to download v0.95

Can it be the gta iv patch 1.0.7.0 thing?
