Game works, mod doesn't - can't gen log

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I have installed the mod both automatically and manually, and this occurs each time.  I have also tried all the simple solutions listed before posting here (running as admin, not read-only, updating, etc.).  When I use the LCPDFR Diagnostics Tool in the LCPDFR folder, and click "Check your installation," I get the "No installations have been found" error.  I then do the browse option, find the .exe, and select it.  It then tells me that LCPDFR is set up correctly.  Then, I run the game.  It works fine (it did reset my game, but whatever. I can deal with that.).  However, nothing has changed. The cop cars are the same, and I can't find the glowing red circle at a police station that will let me play as the cops.

Going back to the LCPDFR Diagnostics Tool again, I open it, and clicking "Check your installation," get the same error.  So this time, I browse, select the .exe, and instead of closing the utility, I open the log file so I can post it here.  Right when I click it, I get the Windows "Diagnostics Tool has stopped working" dialog.  The game still works fine, but I can never get the mod to work.  I have the xlive.dll API installed.

I have attached the asilog.txt which was found in the GTAIV folder.  I noticed all the other .dll files had .asi files associated with them, however the xlive.dll did not.  Is this part of the problem?  I also noticed that in the asilog.txt file, xlive.dll was never mentioned.  I don't know if that has something to do with it, but it can't hurt to give you guys more info!

Thanks in advance,

Hey, thought maybe I could help....

Make sure you start up GTA IV using LaunchGTAIV.exe and right click, and hit Run as Administrator. (You can create a shortcut for that .exe on your desktop, just make sure you right click and run it as administrator!)

When your GTA IV has started up, Niko is standing in his apartment, I would recommend walking outside, then hitting ALT+P, if you haven't already done that, that's what you need to hit to enable the actual mod.

Also, as of 1.0c, it shouldn't be some red circle, there should be about 3 police badges on your map, and you need to go one of the police stations, and walk into the yellow marker.

If this helped, make sure you hit "Mark Solved" on my post!

EDIT: Also, an LCPDFR.log would be appreciated. (found in your GTAIV directory)
