50% off Emergency 2012 on Steam

I've been wondering whether or not to purchase this game for the past few weeks, I've got Emergency 4 on it's way from Amazon but this one seems appealing due to its HD textures and such.

Anywho, just thought I'd put it out there for anyone thinking of buying it, you can grab it for

Processor: Intel i5-6600 @ 3.30GHz

GPU: MSI ARMOR GeForce GTX 1080 OC

Ram: 16GB Skylake

It's really bad. Even the Free Play isn't worth it. I bought a copy for only 4 bucks at a Gamestop in the states. And, I want every penny back.

It's not worth even considering. Emergency 4 is much better in every way, the developers decided to not support modding, as they did with EM3 and EM4, what you see is what you get.

Emergency 4 is appalling in it's original form, it'll last your three or four hours. Add mods and you've got a solid game, which I've played over the last four years.

Alright, thanks for the feedback guys. I'll wait until my copy of EM4 arrives. Was dispatched in a collection with EM3 by a european company so it might be in German.

If it is, does anyone know where I can get the language files and the supervior sound files from?

To elaborate; Where can I find the files from the english versions of the game so I can place them into a presumably german copy?

If you also download the LA Mod, you can get the "Enhanced Supervisor" which is all in English as well. As for the specific software, I can't help much there.

Update:

Just arrived in the post, had the option to install in English or French...

Looked at the units, 2012 looks like a polished clone, exactly the same.

Edit: Does anyone know how to change the screen res without bugging the game? if I change it ingame all I see is part of the menu

From what I understand, all it is is Emergency 4 with updated graphics and at least for the time being, being incapable of being modded. With that said, in my humble opinion, it isn't even worth it for 10 bucks when Steam has it 50% off. 5 bucks, maybe, but the inability to mod the game was a major dealbreaker when I could get EM4 and EM3 as physical copies for virtually the same price, and could do so much more with them.

I guess you got the same version I recently got, so from what I know, it is the "French" version of the game, but it does give you the ability to have it in English.I suppose because for whatever reason, the game doesn't actually support Widescreen resolutions. Personally, I don't understand why looking at the release date myself (by then, old 4:3 ratio monitors were starting really going the way of the 8-Track player). You can "force" the game to accept a larger resolution, what you have to do is go into the Emergency 4 root folder, find em4.cfg. From there, if you haven't opened a .cfg file with anything, open it with notepad, and look for two lines that read:

"

<var name="r_xres" value="1024" />

<var name="r_yres" value="768" />

"

From there, you can change it from this 4:3 ratio resolution to whatever you are using to get a better view.
