I just re installed gta iv and lcpdfr and now IV won't start up.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Did you patch to 1.0.7.0?

I know, Its quite Annoying, But whatya gonna do.... It seems ppl come here DESPERATLEY looking for help, But they simple dont follow the guidelines and do simple steps and they ignore it, Oh well, The internet is full of them, Some ppl do it by honest mistake, Some Do it on purpose and get pissed of at the ppl they want help from, Also, Please dont type in All Caps, Makes you look imature :/

Its really simple and it even says how in the thread, And Nobody will do support Over team viewer for you, The support thread was here to help people OVER the threads, Not get on anybodys computer and help, Weve Told you what you need to do to get our help.......

PS: To whoever -1 me for whatever reason, Your Obviousley new, They are REQURIED to read the stickys BEFORE posting and DO what it says in there, Ive even seen Threads get closed for it...., I find it funny when Ppl -1 ppl for telling them what they should of done in the first place.....

Nobody will do support Over team viewer for you,

I've actually been considering this recently, it'd stop a load of these threads if some sort of dedicated support group were created that can help by using teamviewer..

You could then go through the normal step's you'd take and see the error for yourself instead of trying to get the answer out of them.

Its a fairly safe program, as soon as you move your mouse the spectator loses control and you can restrict what files they can access..

Like I said, I have considered it and will most likely do it if these threads continue, because now we've got our own members posting jokes like "let me google that for you" and being sarcastic instead of helping.

As for the rep system, its flawed, Nicolai posted an exact description of what it is, somewhere in these forums.

I wont use teamviewer mainly cause I believe if someone with a little help dont work out their own problem, then the next post will be can you get on teamviewer for me and instal this car / siren etc etc.

I'll explain it more;

Teamviewer will be like this;

• Only be used if the user is totally and utterly confused at installing LCPDFR
  
• Will only deal with errors and issues caused by the mod itself.
  

This forum is for LCPDFR, not car mods. Any request that does not involve the mod will be straight up rejected. I can't load up someones game remotely to see an error they are getting because of a dodgy mod / underpowered system.

I agree, Honestly, We ALL here have benn "n00bs" and died for help, But the problem is, Theese people want it handed to them on a silver platter, When WE had to LEARN the ways of fixing Gta, I had a friend Who I acutally bought GTA for him so he could play LCPDFR ask me a few questions, But then He go in patient, And asked me to do it over Tv, I said sure, Did it, Never got a thanks, Just a, Kthxbye, Theese people, If they dont understand it, Learn it, If you REALLY want to Enjoy a mod, game, program etc. So bad that you have to Come onto a thread and Post topics like "OMFGH GUIES I NEEESD HEELPPSPS!11!!111WQ" And then dont follow simple guide lines that help you LEARN and FIX the problems,Then Idk...., Im glad I was able to learn Gta and this mod, I can pretty much fix my own problems, And that didnt happen Over Team Viewer.....

While I some what agree, This mod is free, Its not paid for, G17 do this on their free time as well as this wonderfull comunity, While I know some would LOVE to just simply hop on Team Viewer and do it for some one, They never learn what to do, Then, For every VERY small issue (HELP!!11! need TV buddy to show me what keys do what!?!) would be plasterd everywhere, The whole support system would be thrown out the window, And the system actually works..., The only problem is, Some people Just dont listen, And dont do what they need to do..... IF they dont, We cant help, Its that simple.... I honestly hope, That We get a small Rule set and a few more mods, To lock threads that ignore Theese simple guidelines, They came to US for help, They should at least follow simple steps to get it, Remember, This mod is free, And so is the comuntiy that comes along with it, The only we ever asked was to follow simple steps, Same goes for People asking for help with car mods, Sirens etc. (posting in right section)

Also, not everyone would be comfortable with someone who they don't even know, using there computer to do things which they don't understand. They could be putting malware, keyloggers absolutely anything on there and they wouldn't have a clue. Also, if support was done via teamviewer it would put more of a workload on the devs. Not everyone on the internet can be trusted and there are many who would happily take advantage of this sort of opportunity and due to this only designated support teams could be support over teamviewer, which would have to be the devs.

Also, on a side note, If LCPDFR were to go teamviewer I would be so bored, Most nights I'm on here helping people out in the support forums.....

I've been awaiting a solution to this issue. I've read the sticky, none of the simple solutions have solved my issue. and I've even watched the video that Harper put together.

I don't know if it's neccesary to create another thread about the same issue when it can be discussed here, but I've pretty much got the same identical problem as the OP.

I'm trying 0.91, my game is patched to 1.0.7.0, auto installer went fine, but the game just does not start at all.

EDIT: I've found the solution! If you're using .91, select xlive ASI Loader rather than dsound. Then when you launch, you should be ready to pull bitches over.
