What is this?

I just assigned the proper values into alm. :sad:

But now it seems the alm stops working in-game...

Paste the .ini file here

// INSTRUCTIONS FOR LIVERY SETTINGS

// - There are four available liveries for you to choose from,

// - namely livery 0 to livery 3 which correspond to the number

// - of the livery in the texture dictionary (.wtd) of the car,

// - with *sign_1 being livery 0, and *sign_4 being livery 3.

// - To restrict a certain livery to a certain borough of LC,

// - you can use the following values which correspond to

// - different parts of Liberty City.

// - ADY (Alderney)

// - BKR (Broker and Dukes)

// - AQN (Algonquin)

// - BHN (Bohan)

// - EXAMPLE: ADY=0 - Forces cars in Alderney to use livery 1

// - EXAMPLE: ADY=1 - Forces cars in Alderney to use livery 2

// - EXAMPLE: BKR=2 - Forces cars in Broker and Dukes to use livery 3

// - EXAMPLE: BHN=0;4 - Forces cars in Bohan to use livery 1 or livery 4

// - EXAMPLE: AQN=1;2;3;4 - Forces cars in Algonquin to use livery 1, livery 2, livery 3 or livery 4

// - The category names below correspond to the model names of each

// - vehicle which you wish to define livery restrictions for.

// - To add a vehicle to the list, simply create a new section for it

+1.Thank you.

It seems to be the police2, ADY (Alderney) line that had the error, you added a semicolon after the first value, without defining a second value.

Just in case you, or anyone else has this error again.

Cheers, it wasn't that obvious, for me anyway what Sam had changed :) I need to pay closer attention.

*Goes to check his .ini

But even after getting it to work,I'm confused a bit.The ADY (Alderney) units were found roaming in Algonquin and I noticed the Broker/Dukes units at the Alderney Police Station.Is it a problem or is it just me that I don't know the LC islands perfectly...?

Afaik,The first one from the right (where I currently reside) is Alderney Borough,then just the corresponding one is Algonquin,uppermost small island is Bohan and the place where we are at the GTA:IV's start or the extreme last island contains the Broker/Dukes boroughs,along with the tiny Happiness island at the bottom right.

From my own point of view for me it works about 80%. Sometimes I still get the wrong car spawning in the wrong area. Like you I'm not sure if it's something I'm doing wrong or what.

It happens because the spawned vehicle is too close to the player, so ALM ignores it as it would look weird with livery changes right in front of you.

Yeah that's logical. Clears up a few things too.

Edit: sorry for jumping into your thread Dhruv, but had been wondering about these issues for a while :)

No,I could see the K9 units parked in the Alderney Police station parking whereas I assigned them to the Dukes/Broker officers.Also,when I responded to a shootout situation,there were SWAT and K9 units already engaged in the crossfire between them and the thugs.Another time,I could see some 5 units rushing past me (while I was going to the HQ to go on duty) and they all were nothing but the K9s.I'm still wondering what went wrong.I'll go and check out one more time.

@Molten: No problem,mate.This thread is all about problems and solutions.Doesn't matter whose they are ;) (just must be related to the thread title)...

It also happens at the station, it doesn't matter where they are, it won't touch the cars as long as ALM deems them to be within the limit Sam set.

The way ALM works is that it detects models, and then changes the skin to the values in the ini file as long as they are not too close to you, it will change even if it's "correct" to begin with.

I'm afraid Sam has to take over if it gets any more technical, I need dumbed down explanations about how it all works.

Nope,Nicolai.I just checked it.Seems like you were wrong.The CrownVic,at completely two different places and times,switched skins just in front of me.But,from right to wrong.I moved from Alderney to Dukes,just to ensure if its working fine.At Alderney,I spotted a CVPI with Alderney County Sheriff" skin which immediately changed to the K9 skin (see here: http://www.lcpdfr.co...e/1329-prtscrn/ and ignore the Sheriff skin as I spawned it myself).From the image,its clear that alm is not working perfectly,as the location in the image is ADY Police Station.

This skin was supposed to be in Alderney,but the alm forced it to switch to the K9 (FCV assigned for Dukes officers).And the exact opposite happened when I reached Dukes.Plus,I spotted a Bohan ESU,there,too.While at Alderney,I spotted the same ESU with Cerveza Heights livery (Cerveza Heights is located in Dukes).Its messing it all up.I recommend you alert Sam at once,so that he'll look into this issue.

Thank you.

That might be as you get closer. I've noticed that when I'm far away (the car is showing as that weird boxy thing, i.e. L1, not L0), it can show a different livery. AFAIK, that livery is random.

OMG WTF!!?? The car is changing liveries almost every f**king second,now.I'm driving it and it has already browsed twice through all of them four liveries Lmao!!! This is getting even worse!
