this is kinda a 2 in 1 and can tech go in 2 section's at the same time 

3 days ago our computer's operatingg system and hard drive completely blew out so the family decided to fix the computer by at the same time get a new1
 

the new computer is a 

intel® core processor i7-4790S    cpu 3.20GHZ
Ram- 12 GB 
64 bit operating system x64 base processor
ver window's 8.1

hard drive says we have bout 1.8 terra bytes of memory
video card was upgraded to nvidia geforce gtx 770 and power supply was upgraded to evga 600B boow bronze power supply  

was not thrilled to have to get the window's 8 operating system which lead's to the 2 nd part of this / my question

How do I get games to run ? like gta 4 ?   -( using gta4 as test game )
I installed it through steam and it goes to rock star social club menu but won't go to the game

So far GTA is the only game I've played that has an issue with Windows 8.  If you follow the guide OL posted, that should get everything working.  Essentially, you just need to get the latest version of GFWL if I remember correctly.

Definitely try the guide that OL posted. But if that doesn't work, try this one.  I used it when I got my new PC and couldn't get GTA to work, '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>

Classic Shell

 

When Windows starts, it forces it to load to the desktop, not the Live Tiles.

Pretty handy. I use it on my laptop, non-touchscreen so the Tiles are a pain in the ass. With Classic Shell, I forget I'm even on Win8.

the whole fxing the gfwl market thing / gfwl etc worked  graphic's look little funny the words on escape menu and pop up menu's in game almost like its to powerful for the game
