  • Oh gosh, FEMA Camps. God I love that theory. Right up there with chemtrails.  Anyway, I think the most obvious answer to this is "It depends". A hypothetical 'civil war' scenario is has to be define

  • Because many peoples emotions get the better of them under social pressure, so they can take their frustration out physically on people who work for the bank when they can't pay their mortgage or they

Law Enforcement would always be on the American peoples side. As the motto "Serve and Protect the community"(or along those lines) exists for many agencies, they are there to serve the people. Not the government.

But hey, that's my opinion.

Just let your country eat itself from the inside out, that's already what it's going to do, if cops were going to back the people, they wouldn't be cops.

Why do people have that same opinion about Law Enforcement/Military personnel? Let's just stick with Law Enforcement since that's the topic's title. Do you not believe that police officers have morals? Values? Beliefs? They're not government drones that will do whatever the "man" says. Like all these nutjobs that think we're in a police state and that we'll be imprisoned by our Police forces. I guaran-damn-tee you that it WILL NOT happen. Your podunk, small time cop, all the way up to badass highway patrol/state troopers will begin to go against their orders if it conflicts with their morals, beliefs and values. But to answer your question, they'll be on their own side depending on whether or not they agree with the casus belli.

Cops are employed to "Serve the public" but enforce laws which are written by the government, if they didn't act in such a way that that went against the government, but you pretty much proved my point, if they went against their orders to some major extent, they would no longer be employed, which was kind of what I was getting at

Just think about it.  At the end of the day, police officers take off their uniforms and become just "one of us."  Sure, they work for government agencies, but it's just a job, it's just what they do to make a living.  Accountants, engineers, and office administrators also work for government agencies, as a job, just like police officers.  If we were to rise against the government, what do you think they would do?  They would fight just like the rest of us, against our oppressors, if that is what they believe is right.  Or they won't fight, if that is what they want.  They are not "forced" to do anything for/by the government OR us.

It all depends. Police officers have there own beliefs too. They are Liberals, Conservatives just like the rest of us. They would choose whatever side they feel is right. It would be mixed

If the American people were to rise up against it's government's tyranny, who's side would law enforcement be on? The American people, or the American government?

It's probably going to depend on the reason for the uprising. If it's not a commonly held hatred for whatever the government did in this imaginary scenario, then they'll probably do the job and enforce the law. Remember that the police are part of the Judicial branch of the government. They are there to enforce the laws passed by the Executive and Legislative branches, and will do so because the higher branches of the government are the ones who sign their paychecks. Police officers would have to be very deeply wronged or betrayed to feel the need to lay down their badge but keep their guns to rise up against elected officials. It's an extreme circumstance America will likely never see, nor will any first world country that I can think of.

LMAO.

I actually had a discussion about this with a few of my buddies. But it wasn't for law enforcement, it was for the military. The United States military has a shit ton of psychos crazy enough to turn on their citizens. Possibly be brain-washed. Others who actually fight for our freedom, who are patriots, will fight for the American people. I can't imagine a civil war in our own government. It's best to just leave the thought alone and hope it doesn't happen.

I'm afraid that "just leaving it as a thought" isn't always going to be an option. I can get into a deep, in-depth discussion about this, but I really don't feel like debating right now. All I'm going to say on this particular issue, is that the American people hate it's government. It won't be long until the people have had enough. There's also some American saying, "There's a first time for everything". America's "first time" may be coming.

did I say something funny? I don't recall I did maybe you need to actually watch them

As far as me laughing, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I just happened to find some things in your post funny. However It's not just you, I found some other things people have posted, a bit funny.

I'm just a bit baffled at the fact that you so easily believe in what you view on the internet. The internet is full of propaganda, lies, inaccurate and incorrect information. Now I can't prove that what you've stated is incorrect, However I can guarantee you that the majority of it is false. Unless you provide some type of source(s) as to where you got your information.

Actually what you said was hilarious. You are who my last post was aimed towards. Cops are not government drones. I promise you if they were ordered to round up __insert whatever people__ almost none would do it. They have morals, values, beliefs. Cops aren't drones, programmed to do what the government says to the letter.

There would be a very small few that would blindly follow the government, but cops are americans to you have to think most have families most are the most patriotic guys youll ever meet a lot are veterans theres no way they would carry out orders that they don't agree with. for some reason people have this image of a cop being a peacekeeper from the hunger games it will never be that way in america with the current force. the government would have to breed and train and drill them from the time they were born

Oh gosh, FEMA Camps. God I love that theory. Right up there with chemtrails.

Anyway, I think the most obvious answer to this is "It depends". A hypothetical 'civil war' scenario is has to be defined before we decide who's side anyone is on. If say, an armed uprising in Utah akin to the Bundy 'taxes are optional also guess what we know about the negro' cropped up with a couple thousand people this time, it's safe to say the police are going to be on the side putting that down.

If widespread economic downturn and social collapse (which, despite what survivalists on youtube would like you to believe, would take a little more time to happen then it took me to type that and is incredibly unlikely) then the question really comes down to how safe the cops and soldiers feel, how secure in their paycheck and the safty of their families, and just how bad these massive sweeping changes are. If this downturn made a bunch of poor people riot, but most cops and soldiers had a paycheck and didn't feel worried about their families, then they would most likely fight to maintain order.

So what scenario's are we talking about qualifying as "American people were to rise up against it's government's tyranny"? Is it a bunch of farmers in Iowa deciding they would rather die then let the damn dirty feds tell insurance companies that being raped isn't something that should disqualify someone from ever getting health insurance? Or is this a situation where America is what Alex Jones thinks it is? How widespread is the discontent? Is it 1% of Americans fighting? 10%? Are Major cities fighting? Is there organized leadership? Is it powered by a Christian theocracy movement? Is it inclusive of minorities? Does it involve major states like New York, California and the urban area's of Texas? Is the same situation all across the globe?
