Hey guys,

 

I wanted to change the animation of the MP5 to the one that the M4 and AK-47 uses. I tried to change in weaponsinfo.xml but the game crashes, when I want to aim.

Is there a way to change it without crahsing?

Yes , you can replace it , search in anim.img to change .

There's are mod on gta4mods.com, it replaces the m4 carbine animation with the ak's.

I know its not accurate, but its better then just loading a new mag.

So, you could just download that, or maybe you don't want the cocking animation included?

Yes you need to find gun@ak47 and rename it to gun@mp5 (I think) and import that in. That's the way I did it.

Thanks Sgt. Kanyo but now it uses the shooting properties of the AK. I don't know but it is weird to have a MP5 with the power of an AK. Is there a way to change this as well?

The only thing that changes with the animation is the rate of fire afaik. So if you want a higher rate of fire increase it in the weaponsinfo.xml. Damage should be the same as what you give in the weaponsinfo.xml file.

Thanks for your help, now the model is a problem. I tried several MP5 models but the front hand is under the MP5 in the air. Do you know a model where it isn't as I described?

I don't know that might be because either the weapon was converted badly or by changing the animation, the hand position gets moved as well. I guess you'll have to keep trying them.

Yeah there are quite a lot of them, but keep searching on gta4-mods.com for weapons you want in your game and try them out if they meet your requirements.
