Alright, so I've installed the ELS files correctly as the manual says, but when my save file starts to load, the game just crashes "Grand Theft Auto has stopped responding" Tried reinstall- failed  Tried deleting advancedscripthookinit-failed. It seems a lot of other people are having problems with this aswell.

Where did you hear that? I have windows 8 and it worked. Does it work and crash or crash straight away?

I've tested out multiple file situations, but ELS has not yet worked for me. Once I remove the files from the game, it works, but when  I put them back, it crashes when you get the Loading- [mission name].

Just have LCPD:FR 1.0b installed then install ELS V8. Make sure you use ELS V8 cars only. Any cars that are ELS V7 will not work with ELS V8.

 

If that doesn't work:

 

-Go into your GTA directory.

-Delete any files that are not there by default including LCPDFR.

-Un-install GTA.

-Install GTA.

-Update GTA to latest patch.

-Install LCPD:FR 1.0b

-Install ELS V8.

-Click yes to any files it wants to over-write.

-Test.

 

 

I have confirmed that ELS V8 works on windows 8. If this works please let me know.

I don't believe that is the case. Any ELS vehicle (regardless of version of ELS) should be compatible with v8.

 

Do you have any other mods? It may be ELS v8 is conflicting with another mod. I'd suggest trying your game with just one ELS v8 vehicle and ELS v8 and seeing what happens. Also, are you playing in multiplayer or singleplayer?

Yes, that's referring to the file in which you choose options for the lighting example,

It means that ELS won't recognize the file properly so you have to use the ELS v8 files. ELS v7 vehicles will still work, you'll just have to enter the lighting infomation in again to an ELS v8 configuration file, however, corona lights won't work with many ELS v7 vehicles.

I'll try, but I'm just wondering do you have microsoft visual 2010 c++ installed? ELS requires it but It will not let me install since I have the newer version.

I have both 2010 and 2012. Try what I told you. Reply if it worked or not please.

Nope, it still is not working. I've reinstalled everything, no other mods, just LCPDFR and ELS. I tihkn the problem is I don't have visual 2010. Otherwise the problem isn't very clear to me.

Definetaly, i've tested everything out without ELS v 8. It works perfectaly. That's how I know ELS is the problem.

I've had that problem to, and have helped many others with this problem.

 

It is ELSv8 that is causing the problem.

Go to GTA IV Root, open ELS.ini

 

Go to bottom and turn these OFF:

Ai_Els_Sp = on

Ai_Els_Mp = on

 

Once those are off and the file is saved, reload GTA IV, you should load perfectly fine in your game.
