ELS V7 Settings

Featured Replies

OK, so I read over the ELS v7 manual that came with it, and I'm still befuddled on a question I have. My questions is, am I able to set the type of lights for each car that uses ELS i.e. can I have one car using strobes and LEDs, while another is halogen rotators and strobes? Like I said, I read over the manual but I may have missed something. Also if this is the wrong section, feel free to move it.

PS: Why does the typing thing register "rotator" as incorrectly spelled? lol.

All you need to do is create an individual .ide for each vehicle. Go into the ELS folder, copy the default_config, give it a name, edit it to your preferences (I.E. rotating lights, strobes, etc). Then, open ELS.ini in your GTA root folder and edit the line behind File = default_config to whatever .ini you made for that specific vehicle.

Example: my ambulance has a specific pattern and reflections so I copy default_config, rename it to ambulance and edit it to my wishes. I then go into ELS.ini and change

[ AMBULANCE ]
Status = on
File = default_config

into

[ AMBULANCE ]
Status = on
File = ambulance

Hope this helps!

PS: Your typing thing can't spell. True fact :)

When you say an individual .ide file, what exactly do you mean? Do you mean just copy the vehicle information from the corresponding file(s)? Thanks for the info too!

I meant the .ide in the ELS folder in your main GTA directory. Right now it probably just contains default_config. If you copy that and rename it, you get a .ide for a vehicle, which I refer to as an individual .ide as I've made one for each individual vehicle. Anyway, god luck with it!

Oh ok! I gotcha now! lol. I was confused for a second. lol. And this allows me to have different types of lighting for every ELS enabled car? Thanks!

It's .ini actually as .ini work with scripts. I did a copy of it for every police car,say like pol, pol2, fbi, noose, polp, etc. This way every car has it's own config. & if you wanna use rotators you need to put "rota" instead of "leds". Same thing for "strb".

If you want my attention, quote me.

Is there any way you could send me your ELS.ini or wherever your setup is, so I have an example to look off of? Thanks!

I can send you mine if you'd like, I'd have to pastebin it right fast though.

Everything here on down is edited in.

ELS.ini

/ELS/fedsigvision.ini (POLICE file. PRML: Rotator SECL: [unused] WRNL: Halogen)

/ELS/whedge9k.ini (Unreferenced. PRML: Strobe SECL: Strobe WRNL: Halogen)

/ELS/chargersuper.ini (FBI file. PRML: LEDs SECL: Traffic director WRNL: Halogen)

/ELS/buf2_vectm.ini (Unreferenced. PRML: LEDs SECL: Marquee board WRNL: Halogen)

Hope these help!
