GTA IV RESC10 FATAL ERROR

Recommended Posts

I installed a commandline the other day. I ran GTA IV and somewhere after the loading screen it crashes with this notification. It says RESC10 - FATAL ERROR - Ran out of video memory. please reboot. Is there a fix?

Run a vanilla game.... My GTA ran great for a long time and then all the sudden one day it started crashing whenever I would spawn a car with a RESC10 Error - Out of video memory. I tried and tried to fix it but I couldn't. Then one day I tried turning the "texture resolution" or "texture quality" up, its the first or second setting right under the main game resolution I think. I had to set to low and I changed it to medium, haven't had another RESC10 error since. So try that, you'll lose a few frames but everything should be fine.

Try lowering your settings, or if they're already low, try what NickieB said.

If it still doesn't work, try removing that line & see if GTA starts working again.

I've come across that in some other games too sometimes. Put on low settings & game will lag, but push the PC & put higher settings & game will run smooth as butter. It's weird
