Graphics card/More Memory recommendations

Featured Replies

Hey, I've been playing GTA IV with a lot of ELS car mods/High poly car mods, and I really don't want to get rid of them. Problem is, when texture quality is set to high, buildings/the ground disappears, which is annoying. I don't want to have to switch the texture quality either, as anything but high is ugly

I need some recommendations on what graphics card upgrade I should get, or more memory

Suggestions should be affordable, not too expensive

Specs are attached

Hope you can help!

Well, if you have a sufficient PSU supply of atleast 500 to 600 watts, you should be able to run a GTX 660, which sells for a little less than $200, hopefully affordable.

You will also need to have the correct cord for the card to be plugged into, which I am not entirely sure if you do, because the 6670 appears to be plugged in differently.

You do have the correct PCI port, though.

After I switched my cpu to an intel i5 my computer performs way better. I have a 2GB Nvidia GT 640, 8 GB of ram, 600 watt PSU, intel i5 3570k. I can run an overload of mods and  use an ENB. I'm just waiting for a sale on the GTX 760 now

To be honest with you, the texture quality makes no visual difference to me no matter what setting it is on. Anyway, anything above a Nvidia GTX 650 would greatly boost your FPS and reduce your texture problem.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll probably look at stuff over the Nvidea GTX 650, another question, since I'm new to upgrading PC's, can I use multiple graphics cards, or do I replace my old one?

Get a Radeon R9 280X, that thing is a beast ;)

But it seems to me like your processor is more of a problen than your graphics card, I have the same problem. I recently upgraded my graphics card to a R9 280X (luckily not for GTA IV) and it had absolutely 0 impact on my GTA's performance. If you're willing to change your processor I would also suggest an Intel CPU, i5 4570K has the best performance/price ratio. Other than that your PC seems fine to me

Are you using any commandlines? If so, which one?

None

I'll look into that too, thanks for the tip!

You would have to rotate with the BNB minimum a 650 but the top for small budget is towards a R9 270 (x) you do turn to 40 fps at max
