Hello everybody I seem to keep having this error no matter what I seem to try. exception efcreateerror in module dsound.dll at 000116c5. cannot create file "c:/program files (x86)/rockstar games/grand theft auto iv/asilog.txt". access is denied. I have tried deleting the game several time (Like 7). I've updated, tryed manual and automatic installation and I've read through tons of support forums and tried what they said. I can't post the diagnostics because I can't seem to find a version that works, but I would be very grateful if you could help me A.S.A.P. By the way i have the digital download (not steam). I installed lcpdfr with 1.0b automatic.    Thank You ~Gavin

First things first could you please not put things in yellow text, yellow on white is extremely hard for the majority of people to read, especially for me who has difficulty with normal text (I wear glasses for reading)

I've edited it in the quote above for my own purpose.

 

That error is saying it does not have access to write the document "asilog.txt" which all script files tend to write a log file. It means your GTA IV directory is likely in read only mode.

Try setting GTA Iv to not be in Read-Only (right click the folder, and click properties)

 

also try running the game as administrator.

Yes but did you make sure you disabled "Read Only" mode on your GTAIV directory and all sub-folders?

Yes I did sorry for not responding. So now when I get in game lcpdfr is not there, there is no police station alt p doesn't work and ~ doesn't do anything then when I exit the game it says it ran out of memory and I do have lcpdfr installed.

The game saying out of memory when you close it is normal just ignore it.

 

Have you ran the diagnostics tool to make sure that your installation is correct now that you have the directory out of read-only mode?

Chances are your installation will be slightly incorrect (missing a dependency) which means LCPDFR will never run in game, but your game will work fine.

Thank you all for your help, support and patience I fixed the issue. I have never met such nice people, also on els my lights seem dim compared to youtubers like bayareabuggs etc. any help?

 

Use the visualsettings.dat included with ELS V7. It makes the lights brighter.
