Arresting Options: Leave Suspect

I have noticed that this is no longer an option in 1.0a (& 1.0). Was this removed for stability or something similar? I believe re-implementing the leave suspect option after arresting would be a good idea for those using add-on maps.

I installed Route 66 and sometimes they run from the traffic stops, so after I arrest them I know that calling for backup can be buggy. Obviously there is no police station out there and the option to leave suspect is no longer there. Anyone else think this is a good idea?

Also if there is a workaround (other than reloading scripts all the time) or its already implemented in some other way, please let me know.

If you aim at them and press left bumper switch, I believe it releases the suspect you're aiming at (provided they're already arrested).

Though, to be fair, hitting them doing 45 in a Tahoe is admittedly much more fun.

...I am an evil person.

After you arrested him you can select the option to drive him to the station yourself. After that you don't put the suspect into your squad car but you aim at him and press "E" (or your default key) to release him. After that option selected the suspect walks away and you can return back to duty.
