I own a mac and no pc in my home, and I saw this mod and I really wanted to play it. I was just wondering if this will ever come to the mac. If I had a pc, there would be no problems, but I don't have one so I just wanted to know. If anyone can tell me that would be great.

Well, you could go through Boot Camp and re-partition to install windows and then dual boot but..... at that point, you have a PC anyways.

Which is what I have, Gta IV Cannot run on Mac OSx whats so ever unless bootcamp or Virtual emulators, I Use bootcamp, and its soley PC when I go onto my new partition.

Help us, help you!

No, the game is written in Direct X graphical language, which Microsoft owns a patent on. That's why Mac users don't have much of a game selection. You can partition your hard drive and install Windows on it if you happen to have some free space, $199.99 USD and a recent Mac that has Intel based hardware and meets the minimum requirements for GTA IV. The $1000 sissy books that got discontinued recently wont cut it due to the 2GB of RAM and lack of a graphics card. Neither will the 13" pros since they still have no graphics card. You'd have to own a 15"/17" Macbook Pro of recent year model, or a reasonably powerful iMac with an AMD Radeon Graphics card. Even then, you can run the game, but not necessarily on high settings. For that you'd probably have to have a custom built "Mac Pro" desktop. Mmmm $6000 goodness.

I am new to the site but I'm trying to run GTA IV on my MAC through partitioning my hard drive. I have a 13" Macbook Pro that I bought in November '11 and is pretty up to date. I was still wondering if maybe I would be able to run it with the LCPDFR mod. My MAC's information is as follows:

Processor2.4 GHz Intel Core i5

Memory 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

Graphics Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB

I don't know a whole lot about computers (just the basic components) and I don't game on the computer at all (just Xbox 360 occasionally). If anyone could tell me if this is sufficient information for both the game and mod to work. This really sounds like a cool mod and hopefully I can run it.

Thanks,

Garrett

My opinion those specs are not really that good. I have a laptop with the same thing and all I did was expiernce lag all the time. Even on the lowest settings ever it would still lag and the graphics card plays a really important role in that.

Its a 13" MacBook Pro with OS Lion (Late 2011).

Also I recently upgraded from a Toshiba Satellite L555D I bought a couple years ago. But seeing as my Mac was newer I thought it would be a better candidate for GTA IV. However my Toshiba's information is as follows:

Processor AMD Turion II Dual-Core Mobile M250 2.30 GHz

Memory 4 GB Ram

Graphics AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 (I think?)

I know neither computer will probably be able to run it well but I thought there was an outside chance it could work.

Technically the Macbook pro doesn't meet the requirements at all because there is no graphics card. GTA IV may not even install. If it does, you won't like how it runs. I don't know if your AMD M880G actually has any dedicated RAM for itself or not. If it doesn't, you're in the same situation as with the Macbook Pro, if it does, it has to meet minimum requirements.
