Okay, so whenever I'm launching 1.0 through Steam the game crashes when starting LCPDFR.

However, when I launch the game via the LaunchGTAIV.exe it all works fine.

I've uninstalled everything, installed 1.0 manually but I can't get it to work.

Does anyone have any ideas how i get it to work through Steam?

Are you launching the game as administrator? Running the game as administrator: Go to the GTA IV folder, right click on GTAIV.exe, Properties, Compatibility and select 'Run this program as administrator', do the same exact thing to the LaunchGTAIV.exe.

I'm not sure, but I don't think Steam and LCPDFR go well together, so you'll have to launch it trough LaunchGTAIV.exe

 

@ineseri  He said it was working with the .exe thingy, he just wanted to know if there's a way to do it trough steam.

I am fully aware of that. The only thing Steam does is to launch the "LaunchGTAIV" executable. Setting both of the executables to run as administrator may solve the issue. 

Btw, Steam and LCPDFR go well together. I know several people who uses it without any issues :)

Yes, I searched around in the forums before and both .exe's is set to be run as administrators.

My thought was also that all that Steam does is to run the LaunchGTAIV.exe but it doesn't work.

Just tried launching through Steam again and the whole game crashes even before I get the chance to run LCPDFR.

Still works just launching the .exe though.

Does it work if you add the exe to steam manually? Do you really need to use steam? 

You mean playing a "non-steam" game? No, haven't tried that.

I was hoping to be able to fix this somehow, I played 0.95 flawlessly via Steam.

Yeah, but the playtime won't count towards GTA IV.

There has to be something that's been added in the 1.0 update that doesn't work so well with Steam.

I've tried reinstalling both GTAIV and LCPDFR(automatic and manual), still no joy.

Tried changing ASI loader, didn't work either. Starting to think that the fault lies somewhere in the mod, but i have no idea.

Yes, i did accidentally yesterday when removing all GTAIV files.

I removed the entire directory, so yes.

Do you have a clue where the problem can lie?

The only fix I have is to launch the game outside of Steam at the moment. I don't really know what could be wrong. 

I've made som progress, kinda.
