January 27, 201412 yr It may be a stretch, but I feel that a ranking system would be beneficial to the entire mod. Whenever you start your "on duty" status you begin as an officer. Eventually you work your way through the ranks from corporal, to sergeant, lieutenant, captain, and possibly chief. This is achieved by doing certain things. For instance, to be promoted from officer to corporal, you need to do basic things like writing citations, and making small arrests. Then from corporal to sergeant you need to respond to a bit more dangerous callouts, and find a lot of felons and those who have warrants, that type of stuff. Obviously it gets harder and harder as you climb up the ranks, but I feel it would encourage a lot more play. With each new rank you gain new responsibilities, or more, privileges. As an officer, you can call backup if you need it, but it isn't your call if the big guns are called in, such as helicopters or NOOSE. So, even the AI has a ranking system, and they are able to call the shots more effectively. As a corporal, you can be a bit more specific with what backup you need. Sergeant, you can call in air support, and say whether or not to use lethal force. Lieutenant, you are pretty much in control of every aspect of the callouts you get, from backup needed, to maybe a unit positioning system, in which you tell specific units where to be. Captains have control over even more things, and chiefs are in control all together. If the positioning system is possible, maybe the chiefs can set patrol areas, or lead searches for wanted people. I realize these are pretty lofty dreams and suggestions, but it will make the mod a lot more enjoyable overall for everyone. The ranks should also be added into the clothing options, so sergeants have the three chefferons, that type of stuff.
