Hi LCPDFR,

 

I am considering buying 3 highpoly vehicles. all have 100000+ polygons. If i have a strong computer is it possible to have 3 in the game at once and have the highest settings? Will the entire game lag or does it depend on the computer?

With a Computer from Mars maybe.

You can't say 'yes it will lag' and you can't say 'no it won't lag' Since nobody knows your system specs. Lagging is based upon how good your PC is and how fast it can process your game.

 

On a Low-Medium range PC i'd say no because it won't be powerful enough to run it, On a Medium-High range PC i'd say it could work but there is a chance it will lag. On a High-BEAST PC i'd say yes because well.. It's a top notch gaming system (and when i say beast i mean something that is worth about $5000 and can run anything)

 

It'll certainly make GTA unstable anyway, whether it lags or not.

Apart from lag, your game might become unstable if you use many high poly models. 

 

It's not much of a problem for IV to render one high detail model, but it does put up a fight if you're in a pursuit with 5/6 AI cop cars involved or you have a couple of back-up units on their way to help you out, the framerate might drop or objects (or even buildings) will "pop in".
