Anyone else notice the new add-on to the website? If you click on the forum tab and look to the right of the page, right above the recent topics box, there should be a small box that updates frequently with different actions that occur in game such as, citations being given, initiating police pursuits, and arresting suspects.

 

I've also noticed that if you've connected the LCPD:FR mod with your website account, it will display your name in the box with whatever corresponding action that you commit in-game, while using the mod of course.

 

Real neat website addition, isn't it?

I said it before, and I'll say it again: Yay for Jay! And the entire team of course. A really neat addition to the community :)

NSA is watching

That has been there for ages. It's not new. They removed it shortly after 0.95 RC2 came out, i guess they decided to bring it back.

 

It's a keep up to date system, the things you see are real people playing the game, it lets you know who is issuing tickets, in a pursuit, calling backup etc

 

EDIT: I do have to admit, it's a really cool addition to the site, Jay does work miracles :D the question remains is, Something has replaced the MDC's spot in the "More" tab, I just wonder what this new feature is

I'm aware of what it is, and when it was here before :) It's a neat addition to the website, nontheless. 

It's the first step of putting the LCPDFR Online Services system online.

Right now the Liberty City Blotter is a bit of an experiment to make sure we can handle the load of dealing with the crime statistics data and rendering it live to X amount of people on the board index.

The system was previously called Crime Statistics as it's one of its major functions, although in the coming months it will serve a lot more purposes than crime statistics.

 

We've done a lot of work optimizing our systems (including opcode caching for the board, MySQL buffer pool and query caching and a bunch of other stuff) to get this all back going again and the site back to speed.

The system that deals with crime statistics/LCPDFR Online Services has been changed from using PHP to using an asynchronous node.js system. This has gotten rid of a lot of the design problems and latency we had with PHP.

 

Expect a lot more LCPDFR<>LCPDFR.com integration in the coming months.

I really like the concept, a lot. This is a really big step up from the previous crime statistics.
