Faster Way to Mod Cars?

Featured Replies

I would like to know if there is a faster way to mod cars instead of manually doing it with sparkIV, and what is the maximum I can do without having the game crash a lot. I'm not worried about the taxi bug cuz I always put in traffic flow when I reinstall.

I recommend you to use OpenIV instead. And I am not sure what you mean with faster? It takes like... 1 minute to install the cars?

Maximum amount of cars depends on how large they are. Larger file size = more crashes. It also, of course, depends on your computer specs.

You could try a sister program to SparkIV called OpenIV, not sure how much quicker you'll get it done, but no, there is no way to do it through Window's directory of the game without using SparkIV. As for the amount of cars you can put in, that is very heavily dependent upon your computer and it's specs.

Try GTA IV Vehicle Mod Installer, faster than SparkIV or OpenIV to install car mod.

I find it safer to use OpenIV, and more stable. I know what I replace when I use OpenIV, unlike the vehicle mod installer.

Not really sure what you mean safer, also it is stable, I use it all the time as well as SparkIV and OpenIV. And what do you mean "I know what I replace when I use OpenIV?"

For example; I want to replace the police slot. Now, If I choose to use the software you suggested, it does it pretty much automatically. Easy, but I have really no control over what it did. This may just be me, but I want to do the actual replacing myself, so I use OpenIV where I have to replace it myself.

I'm gonna try try OpenIV when my game is done reinstalling, is it as "user friendly" as sparkIV?

Also, will the taxi bug still occur with traffic flow cuz when I had a s***load of cars there a lot of taxis but not a crazy amount.

And by faster I meant multiple cars at once like the GTA IV Vehicle Mod Installer

I'd say OpenIV is even more user friendly, as it uses a nice theme and some good functions (preview models for example). You can also drag and drop several files at once, into the directory. No need to save, or rebuild as the program automatically does that for you.

The taxi-bug happens when GTA IV runs out of available video memory. To compensate for the memory loss, GTA IV loads the model that has the least amount of polygons. In this case, that car-model is the taxi. If you have a very large vehicle file, the bug will be more prominent and the script may be less likely to fix it.

I personally use spark, I like it more than openIV, but it is all up to your preference. Although I do like that with openIV, you can view the model.
