GPU Discussion

Featured Replies

Intel i5-3470 @ 3.20GHz

8GB DDR3 RAM

Windows 7 (64x)

My GPU is an nVidia GTX 550 TI (1GB - GDDR5)

I get an average of 55 FPS 73% CPU usage, and 94% on video memory usage.

I'm going to be upgrading to a GTX 660 soon hopefully and will also replace the stock intel CPU cooler with either an Arctic or a Corsair depending on how I feel.

Any recommendations?

What are you looking for in cooling? Temperature ? Silence?

I know the Scythe Mugen''s are good in cooling, but is huge.

Also the Noctua NH-D14 120&140mm seems te get good reviews on tweakers.net, which is the best Dutch Technological website.

Sounds like a good setup.

My recommendation for the heat sink would be a Cooler Master Hyper N520. Pretty inexpensive and a great quality fan.

It was a custom build I started a year or so ago. But need proper cooling on the cpu cause it's stock intel.

And the graphics card is just me wanting a new card lol.

I'll look into that fan, chears.

True dat. Noctua NH-D14 is probably the best air cooling fan you can get if you wanna strictly go air cooling.

H100i is a decent all-in one as well.

Raystorm liquid cooling kit is one of the best starter cooling kits if you wanna make one yourself, so you kinda got 3 options there depending on your preference.

I will probably buy the noctuna myself, when I buy a new CPU.

Also...I have been doing some troubleshooting with OCCT on my GPU and I found out

that when I benchmark DX9 non-fullscreen it had 14 fps and when i did fullscreen it would not go above 0.1.

With directx11 I have average of 100fps fullscreen.

Any idea what this means?
