095rc police computer problem

Featured Replies

Hi, I am having a problem where I go back to my vehicle to run a check on a name during a traffic stop. I click login but the in-game computer freezes and nothing happens. I then either have to use the "reloadscripts" command or restart GTA IV.

The problem started in the 0.95 beta and I was hoping 0.95RC would fix this but it seems that it hasn't.

Any ideas?

Cheers!

Nothing on there appears beyond the norm. Whatever the problem is, it does not appear to be logging in that file. The developers would have more knowledge of this than me.

It's a shame this problem is not easily fixed, whatever is causing it is definitely going to be hard to solve.

Sorry i don't quite understand what you mean by crash logs. I get no errors as such come up, the game just freezes. I have attached the results from the diagnostics tool.

Cheers.

Post LCPDFR.log. You can get this in your GTA IV directory.

Do you have any other modifications installed? We only support vanilla (just LCPDFR) installations.

I did have DashCam installed but i've just removed it. Other than that its just a single vehicle mod.

EDIT: Just tried to upload the LCPDFR.log file but its too large (9.60MB)

Cheers

I have been having the same problem, I also encountered it in the beta. It is quite annoying, and takes the fun out of traffic stops.

This is only here so I could complete my profile.

Well, in the beta version I tried it without car mods, and it still had the problem, I'll restore the original vehicles, and see if it works though.

I'm thinking it could be due to installing new updates over the top of old updates, I'm about to try without any vehicle mods and i'll tell you how it goes. If that dosen't work i'll probably have to reinstall GTA IV.

Cheers for all you help though :)

EDIT: Just tested the police computer again with no mods installed. The problem still exists. It occurs on the login screen and i can't move my mouse. I can hear the in game sounds (traffic etc) and can pause and unpause the game but cannot exit the login screen. The only way to get out of it is by "reloadscripts" or restarting the game.

I used the default vehicles. The only mods that I had were LCPD:FR Mod, A custom police hat, custom sirens and horn sounds, a blood mod that adds realistic blood, and a first person mod. I still encountered the problem, I don't know what is causing it.

Edit: I am now sure I am having the same problem as Tom H, as he posted above. The only solution to prevent this is to not do traffic stops at all, which I really don't want to do.

Same here, forgot to remove my siren mod but the problem existed way before i changed from the default siren. The only thing that happened when the problem started was an upgrade to LCPDFR 0.95 BETA

Yeah, the my siren couldn't be causing it either, nor any of my other mods. I had the same problem in the beta when I didn't have the mods (other than LCPD:FR Mod of course.). On the bright side, I am enjoying using the original police vehicles again , but I really hate this problem, traffic stops are one of my favourite things in LCPD:FR.

@Tom H:

You first said the police computer "freezes" when clicking on login and then you said you can't even move the mouse when you opened the police computer. Please describe again, what exactly you are doing and what happens.

Please do not PM me unless really necessary (knowing you helps). If you think you need my attention in a topic, tag me.

Sorry,

I return to my car during a traffic stop to check names and press 'E'. The login screen comes up and shows my username and the password "DoNuTz". I try to move my mouse but the cursor won't move. I try to press 'E' again to exit and nothing happens. I can hear the sounds of the traffic etc. and i can pause and unpause the game.

Cheers!

Strange I have never seen this problem, have had this problem, or have heard of this problem until now.

LCPDFR.log show anything? Think Jay wanted you to post a copy of it anyways.

I tried but it wouldn't let me, the forum says something about 500KB so i checked the size of the LCPDFR.log and realised it was 9.60mb.

EDIT: underneath the attatchment section it says "Used 126.4K of your 500K global upload quota (Max. single file size: 373.6K)"

If it avoids double posting then please edit rather than posting again. If someone has made a reply, then no need to edit again. Post after them.

Where's the link to your pastebin snippet / log snippet / attachment?

Right after examining the LCPDFR.log i saw the following:

Literally hundreds of these:

[WARN - 9:55:18 PM] [backupManager] Tick: Disposed object still in list

(View attached screen shot)

A few of these:

[WARN - 9:32:21 PM] [ContentManagerItem] ProcessDeletion: Object disposed unexpectedly

Alot of these:

[DEBUG - 9:46:58 PM] DispatchUnitSetup 1

(View attached screen shot)

The only part that mentions the police computer is this:

[DEBUG - 3:25:23 PM] [scriptManager] RegisterScript: Scripts.PoliceComputer

I hope that at least some of that is relevant, i don't exactly know what to look for.

:D

I can attach more screenshots of different parts if you want.
